  1. Que outrage! I think it’s got potential. But not at the alleged 35k retail price!
  2. Mate, the rifle is hideous and weighs a ton, lol. I'd have the Sako over any Tikka any day, same parent company or not, they're different levels of quality and you realise it when you use them in the field. It sounds like the sort of rifle one of those airsofters would buy.
  3. Not really about aesthetics. Sakos are better made rifles. I'd take a Sako over my Tikka any day and their new Carbon Wolf looks real smart. My only reservation would be the grip, not sure if I would get on with it over a TH.
  4. Saw the first of this season on Saturday. Very unlikely to be a resident imo. Likely a very early migrant that came over on the hunters moon.
  5. Not something I've ever really considered but I guess it must be when I do.
  6. f***ing insane! https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/11/05/new-zealand-fisherman-pulls-18-month-old-baby-sea-alive-freakish/
  7. They look really smart. Be at the top of my list too.
  8. Mate, that's a really good story.
  9. Biggest hunting show/festival thing in Europe. Surprised if no one has heard of it.
  10. I'm going to it next year (Jan/Feb). Anybody else been? What's it like? Any advice/suggestions?
  11. Always had reasonable population of Englishmen on our patch. And we release a few hundred each year too, though I'm not sure how beneficial they are to the wild stock. GWCT research suggests released greys are shit at reproducing. But they provide a shootable stock at least. French just don't interest me at all.
  12. Is there a fella on here who has a malixwhippet pup? I seem to remember seeing a pic months back and it was a real looker. Be good to see that one again too.
  13. I'll not challenge any of that because it's going nowhere. I'll end with this, I too hope we find a sustainable global energy infrastructure soon and are able to stop and possibly by some miracle reverse the damage we have done to the environment. The world will be a poor desolate place when it's a concrete jungle and the natural wonders are in memory only.
  14. Now you're being intentionally ignorant. I've listed the benefits beyond the profits multiple times. I can't make you read them. North Sea ops tax is f***ing extortionate, it's been an absolute cash cow for public spending. Not to mention the 100'000 jobs it supported (off the top of my head). Nah, no one will benefit. It's not rape anymore than picking berries is cannibalism. Using the term 'rape' at all is a bloody stretch of semantics seeing as we're talking about a non sentient thing but I can accept the use if we consider it synonymous with unsustainable and careless damage. By your
  15. I think that's true for some folks, lol. But done properly they're just trying to maintain a young persons hormone levels for improved health. Agree though, it's a cop out for the lifestyle changes that can go some way to achieving the same. Rogan talked briefly through the process he went through and that in his opinion nothing natural could achieve the same that TRT did for him. Did not know that no. I don't struggle to sleep, I just make sure I get enough of it. Living with a sleep deficit just makes every waking moment harder without realising, it's a false economy.
  16. Ain't that kinda a missed point here. Smashing a spaniel through a boundary hedge just sends everyone's birds home, not so much 'rehome' them. Right? I know it's cheeky but if it is just a boundary then frankly it's free dogging in. LOL
  17. No comment. I dunno about more important, but they're definitely neglected more by most people. All the youngsters (I'm old now ) seem para about their f***ing 'macros' and supplements but give no thought about vits/mins. That's really where my thoughts on diet are at now, trying to balance that out properly, increasing the plant base and just enjoying quality meat and fish cooked however I want. Purely for long term health, not for fitness reasons. Similarly as far as I'm concerned supplements are f***ing snake oil, well marketed snake oil. Sleep as well, I don't f**k about with that.
  18. According to this outfitter 20k USD. LOL https://www.alaskaremote.com/dall_sheep_hunts I'm sure I've seen them around 10k though. Might be recalling a bear hunt though.
  19. Working on it. One step at a time.
  20. There's SOME truth to that but it's way too simplistic a view of what is actually going on. These companies only care about profits and hence environmentalism only hits their radar when it effects their profits. I agree with that. But the point folks like you miss is that IT IS on their radar and that's because we make it so. This whole fracking process wouldn't be so tentative if the environmentalists weren't being listened to. That's a good thing! What I'm interested in is the TRUTH about the risks and benefits because at the moment the biggest voices are just sensationalist scare monge
  21. Mate, if I'm at all frustrated it's that you keep making claims that you won't substantiate. Like this raping the earth nonsense. How is fracking 'rape'? You keep repeating the claim and asking other vaguely relevant questions but never actually show why it's true. The 'damage' is to shale formations, that a naturally fractured anyway, and we're removing gas that serves utterly no purpose to the earths geology or ecosystems. How is it rape? It's just a sensationalist statement. Our dumping plastic into the ocean, destroying unique ecosystems, the ever growing sprawl of intensive agricultu
  22. 100% my #1 hunting dream would be a sheep grand slam. My Tahr hunt is my affordable version of this. All about the mountains.... PS mate, just got confirmation we won our block.
  23. I caught a summary of some alleged study recently, no idea how valid it is because I didn't dig it out. But basically it said that they concluded that age related body composition changes, like muscle loss and fat gain specifically, had little to no relationship with ageing when you corrected for activity level. It basically said that those body comp changes were as a result of a reduced activity level that most people adapt to in later life and not age itself. I should really look into it because I thought it was quite an interesting conclusion if true. Couple that with how heavy lifting
  24. I'm sold into the system yet I defended your big cat study. Right'o, you're not getting the answer that fits your bias so this time I'm a sell out. I defend the scientific process, reason, evidence and logic. I don't defend flimsy common sense justifications when they can't be supported with the former. You were the one that asked a shit ton of vaguely relevant questions which I humoured. The topic is fracking and you still can't suitably explain how it is even vaguely "raping the earth".
  25. And a very valid link it is too. Keworth is next door to me and I have colleagues who used to work there. I notice the magnitude of the keworth 'quake' was bigger than all the Blackpool ones.... should I be concerned I didn't feel a damn thing? I think it's established there's a causal link. I can't deny that and won't unless the science suggests otherwise.
