Of course colonizing, or even just setting foot on, another body in our solar system would be a huge undertaking! But not all resources need to be taken with us, there is scope for sustainable self sufficiency. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_situ_resource_utilization#Mars Oxygen and water exist in these places, or in some instances the reactants to create them. How do I think planetary differences came about.... astrophysics!

I'm not sure what the predicted long term future of Earth and our solar system is mate but I'd say if the earth is buggered then so is the moon that orbits it. I think the moon will be a good base to test colonizing technologies, potentially as a 'port' for larger ships, and also has some potential mining resource value (He3). But I dont think its a realistic alternative to Earth.

I feel that this tribal war like stance in politics plays to your position though wilf because differentiating the populace on race is essentially your position. The Liberals are showing their colours of course by doing exactly the same. At least you're honest about it. Meanwhile people like myself will be called a Nazi by the Liberals, and a Liberal by the ethnic nationalists. LOL Yet again, I feel that society is in desperate need of free, open and respectful discussion on any and all topics. This war footing that's being taken isn't driven by true freedom and equality, its driven

And just FYI I'm not one of those who bangs the "all lives matter" drum. I just think that reasonable free discourse on this has been completely torpedoed now battle lines have been drawn. BLM has now become the dominant force for those who want to fight for civil rights and likewise ethnic nationalists have become the dominant force for those who are concerned about multiculturalism. Both sides have an us and them attitude and open discussion is dead.

Liberals: "ALL LIVES CAN'T MATTER UNTIL BLACK LIVES MATTER!" Me: "Huh... have you seen the data?" Liberals: "SEE! WHITES HAVE HALF THE CHANCE OF DYING AS BLACKS!" Me: "Soooo black lives can't matter until Native lives matter, no?"

Pretty much any of them would be possible with the enough R&D and investment. Absolutely no natural laws that prohibit space travel, just technical problems. For the likes of mars, the moon, the largest asteroids in the belt and certain moons of the outer planets the technical hurdles are much more solvable than say interstellar or intergalactic travel.

So purely because you asked I just timed myself properly over my short run. It turns out it's 5.7km according to google maps and I did it in a few seconds over 25min. Assuming average pace that would give me a 5km time of about 22min dead. There's a bit of a hill involved too which I don't know if that makes much difference really given I start and end at the same place. Also, fuelled myself with a fry up which I find makes a noticeably positive difference to my energy levels. You've got me being all f***ing analytical now and I try to avoid that, believe it or not.

Nah, you want to attack something you disagree with but aren't educated enough on the topic to actually justify. Which is why you came in making statements followed by questions rather than the other way round.

Then bin them the moment that happens. This shit could happen to anyone in the USA because it's being overlooked and apologised for. This c**t was acquitted!

LOL, francie, you're asking really basic question and showing a fundamental lack of understanding but on the first page you made all sorts of bold claims dismissing space travel.

It's not 'contained' by anything other than a velocity that isn't sufficient to escape the Earths gravity. What little atmosphere there is at 300kms just acts as deceleration, it doesn't 'contain' anything, a carefully managed orbital velocity does that.
-
Well, gravity and velocity.

You can leave Earths orbit at ground level mate. I don't think you understand what orbit means. Orbit isn't an effect or a region, it's a trajectory.
-
You've said this twice now, the ISS is in space fella. You can orbit the Earth in SPACE! There's no hard physical boundary between the atmosphere and 'space'. Generally definitions range from 80km to 120kms with the widely accepted definition 100km (aka Karman Line). The ISS orbits at >300kms.

4th July at the earliest I'm hearing.

Not surprising. A lot of middle class liberal white girls are doing the whole 'you're either with us or the enemy' thing. He's just acting true to type. Shame on the others for letting that shit manipulate them.
