  17. how did the boys on trapperman forum take your pet mink thingy? my post got removed
  18. ive got bethal and flat pack traps....the talpex copies cost more than the real thing...and i think their as good if not better! £7.50 a shot it adds up i see countless lads buying traps for 2/3 quid a go but its just false economy as like you say their shagged in a mole catchers month
  19. me and a pall cut 3/4 ft lenghts of good hard woods and split them with wedges and a axe or a sledge hammer,.. and stack them as that to season then cut them with a bench saw or any power saw as their only as thick as your arm.... but only because i wont let him use my new husky
  20. ive got a few real talpex ones (about 20) and about 30 copies that i can buy local but the local copys are bloody good if not better than the real macoy.... but i need a extra 30/50 more but the copys i buy cost more than the real thing....hence my asking i run about tunnel traps as well as a few dozen random traps from full barrel to fenn loop traps.. but have just picked up more farms and need to up my trap numbers
  21. rats.......a good bit of ratting... of days on the fell with me dry stone walling
  22. ahh its nice to see the spirit of jim corbet lives on...........
  23. as it says who do you use for your talpex traps? ive been useing a very very good copy for years but now they have gone up to £7.50 a trap so i may as well buy the real deal answers if you will
  24. too many lads get into it for the trigger time..and no doubt you get a bit of it.. but you spend more time on a hammer than a gun...,, my wee post is a low fat version of the story.. buts its a story all to familiar in keepering and young lads... what sickens me is i turned down 4 jobs that year...and was offered to work on dryhope in selkirk 3 times and i turned it down to stay with the estate... but to be fair to be able to produce a 1470odd bird day... and 28020 odd birds in 5 seasons thats some thing by any ones standards
