    Arrived at my ground for the last hour before dark and spotted a doe in a field straight away , shot her from a dry stone wall , good start. Then had a quick lamp to see if I could bag a charlie , squeaked a good sized vixen in from a winny bank to approx 150 yards , 100 grain .243 found its mark Then it was off to bed as had to be up at 5 am to go goose decoying. The 1st geese started flighting in the dark so completely missing the decoys. Then as the light started to rise the geese started coming to the deeks , good flight with 14 pinks & 3 greylags in the bag. We should have

    Had a phone call from a farmer where I do the fox control saying she had some ducks to releases on a pond but wanted the foxes sorting first , she had called in a local keeper who shot 2 last week but couldnt get the other 2 he saw. I took a mate of mine out with the lamp who hasnt shot a lot of foxes to see if I could get him a shot , anyway I eventually spotted a fox crossing a field at considerable pace , I stopped him with a shout and my mate pulled off a good shot , head shot at 182 paces resting on a dry stone wall

    You try and get 20 yards of a fallow buck in a place where they are continually disturbed and very wary .This is deer management and you take your chances when they arise . Laid down or standing up what difference does it make ??? it still gets shot Have you ever stalked deer before???

    Was out stalking yesterday afternoon as it was a lovely still,sunny day and I thought I would try my luck On entering the wood I headed for a rutting stand I found last week. As I approached I couldnt believe my luck when I spotted a buck lying down not 20 yards from me , on raising the rifle he turned his head and looked straight at me so I quickly fired , job done Luckily the drag was only about 500 yards to the car 2 in a week , cant be bad

    Had an invite to shoot some ducks last night on a pond that is not even fed , very surprised at the amount of duck that came in. A good flight ended with a few in the bag

    Went out with Woodga again last nite to a spot of my permission we were on last week.We found a sheep carcasse that a fox had been feeding on so I decided to give a call , straight away a fox appeared in the next field and was coming cautiously to the call. Kept calling and it kept coming , just as I was about to shoot it took off anyway I continued to call and it re-appeared at the edge of a wood no mistake this time and a vixen was in the bag. Woodga was using my trusty Ruger 77/22 again to great effect knocking over a bit more ground game Nice pose :11: :11:

    Yep it was a strange night last night , I was out with the lamp and saw feck all as well. Only managed 4 rabbits

    I travelled to my stalking ground in the Scottish Borders yesterday afternoon with the intention of looking for a fallow buck. Couldnt help but take a pic of ths cracker.......... When I arrived the weather was still very warm but there was evidence that the deer had started rutting I stalked around the quarry with plenty signs of deer but no luck I continued to head for a nice little quiet piece where I knew deer had been seen , glassing the area below me I spotted a nice buck thrashing a bush , so it was to be my lucky day I travelled home very hap
