  1. Well spotted mate very observant. The photos were merely showing the eye popper in the 1st pic and the s5 in the second pic
  2. Well my mate just got his new T3 at the weekend with a S5 mod fitted so went out last night to put it through its paces. 1st fox was lying in a hedgerow looking straight at us at approx 180 yards , my mate placed the 58 gr v-max straight between its eyes ........................what an eye-popper Then we carried on to a different spot , same again spotted another fox lying in a hedgerow ...........................this time a modest distance of about 150 yards and once again my mate dispatched it with a clinical head shot.............................brilliant shooting !!!!
  3. I get sick and tired of hearing this crap .......................wise up , it is illegal to use dogs.
  4. I would never use a rifle again without my T8 . as remmy says the dogs bollocks. No loud report , muzzle flip and you can also see what you are shooting............................BRILLIANT !!!!! xx
  5. Decided to go out last night and try for a charlie , but once again only saw the one with no chance of a shot. Luckily I always take the .22 rimmy as well so ended up bagging a few critters on the way Seeing as it was a full mooon last night the end bag wasnt too bad Out tomorrow night with my mates new T3 on his ground where no foxes have been shot this seson so fingers crossed we should hopefully be a bit more successful
  6. Looks like you had a great couple of days stalking , cant wait til I get back down Oxford it really is great stalking with loads of deer. I love the fact that you never know what is round the corner , fallow, roe or munty
  7. I was very kindly invited by Foxdropper down to Wiltshire to do a spot of stalking and lamping last week. What a great bloke , we had a great time even though the weather was a bit unkind with gales and rain. 1st nights lamping we saw a few foxes but only one shot presented itself , off the mark and a vixen in the bag Next day we went to a small farm where the landowner wanted a few roe culling as there was a new plantation which was suffering from deer damage , straight away we spotted 3 roe lying down next to a hedgerow , I had to take a head shot from a gate ,1st roe in bag
  8. :11: :11: :11: :11: I bet you shot it with the air rifle as well .................................. :11:
  9. I have seen a live otter at Carter Bar and also at Lockerbie
  10. Good stuff once again Frank ... foxes round about here are getting thin on the ground just now, but I have some ground in the Scottish Borders that will have a few , will start to get out after them from next month hopefully !!! I wish I could see 12 foxes in a night , that never happens round about me, I am lucky if I see 1 or 2
  11. If thats one of John Hallets , I certainly wouldnt go there . My mate sends all his stuff to a guy in Edinburgh but I cant remember his name, he is expensive but the end result is well worth it
  12. Sounds like you had a great night , the good nights sure make up for the blanks
  13. Yep I agree , but the place this doe was shot , it is impossible to get any closer due to the topography of the ground. You have to shoot from above the deer , if you try and get any closer you totally lose them from sight.
  14. Fantastic Kudu mate Did it make Roland Ward ???
  15. Millet , I still use the laserlite most of the time , especially when shooting hares and rabbits. But when I am intentionally only going after foxes I now use the lightforce as it has a far superior beam when you need to take a shot at distance . Also with the onset of old age my eyes are not what they used to be :11: :11:
  16. What about the fox that scarpered Somebody probably has had a pop with the shotgun Anyway you know what foxes are like , you will never get them all that is why I love foxing so much
  17. Hi mate , yeah some other guys go out with shotguns after rabbits ......................... need I say more Yep Frank , the amber filter is excellent . I have used red filters for the last 20 years and decided to change to amber last season on a recommendation and I have found foxes tend to completely ignore it
  18. Out with the lamp the other night , quite light as still half moon lamping a farm I have only shot once this season.Last time we shot a cub so I thought tonite I would see if I could connect with the others but it wasnt to be Saw 2 foxes , one scarpered as soon as the light hit it but the other a nice sized dog fox respoded to the call coming in to approx 70 yards ...................................
  19. Just a pic from the 1st day of the doe season , nice neck shot doe @ 200 yds on rangefinder
  20. Excellent post Frank I too am beginning to like the fallow more and more. I think they are great to stalk , not a pushover like roe.
