  4. Well I had nothing to do this afternoon so I went for a walk for and hour and a half hunting up some hedgerows. Knocked a nice longtail down straight away followed by a hen, then clattered down a few woodies as they tried to escape Knocked another longtail down out of some rushes , then I completely missed an easy snipe which I should of had quite easily On the way back to car flushed and shot a rabbit along with another woodie. A very enjoyable walk coupled with a few shots , thats what its all about I am quite looking forward to this season and getting a bit of shootin
  5. I invited Woodga out last nite on my bit of ground for a spot of shooting with the .22 rimmy. The wind died off a bit but we still managed a few shots.Woodga shot brilliantly again , missing only 1 rabbit :11: well you cant get them all !!! His shooting was top drawer as usual , shot of the night was a hare running away from us with only its arse in view , woodga managed to shoot it in the head running at 72 paces Good night , final bag 17 rabbits 4 hares
  6. Yesterday was the 30th Sept and it was very warm again , this July and now Sept have been the warmest on record , Sept on average was 3 degrees warmer ,this global warming is really kicking in. I hope we start and get some colder weather as I am sick of sweating All the bushes and trees are laden with berries Took a few scenic pics whilst out yesterday. xx
  7. Hi Millet, I havent got a pic of it but its probably between 12 and 15 ft off ground. Are you thinking of taking up stalking ????
  8. Out stalking again at dawn , lovely morning. I spied 5 roe in a bog and luckily one was a buck. I had to take him high in the shoulder due to the vegetation. The sunshine got out that hot I ended up having a snooze in the afternoon in a grass field. Here is a nice pic from a new highseat
  9. Love the teckel. What do you think of the breed as deer dogs??? I have heard they are a bit strong headed but excellent at finding deer.
  10. Real nice looking pup mate.....................hes going to be busy !
  11. Had a walk out yesterday afternoon on my mates patch up on the River Clyde just to try and bag a duck or two. Anyway I managed 2 right and lefts at mallard followed by a teal I then managed a right and left at snipe but couldnt claim it as we could only pick 1 bird A very nice afternoon walk , great weather and good shooting Final bag..................
  12. I was stalking last week on my ground and came across a nice bit of swamp which I didnt know about I spied a roe doe with twins straight away , 150 yards to the right was a fallow doe and just to the left of it was a fox sunning itself on a grass banking. I tried stalking in to get a shot at the fox but unfortunately could no longer see it so I just lay for a while when out popped a roebuck
  13. Just wondering if you fox shooters on here are getting many cubs ? All we are shooting is adults, so far this season only had a couple of cubs!! Shot another dog fox last night under very still conditions again Roll on some darker . cooler nights , sweating like hell again last nite
  14. Went out last night on a small local pheasant shoot that I control the foxes on even though the moon was that bright you could read the words on a box of bullets in the dark. Bullshit to people who say you cant shoot foxes unless its dark and windy , you can shoot foxes on any night except obviuosly when its foggy.
  15. RIP Scooby , at least he went doing what he loved best.
