Even though it's a full moon I popped up one of my farms and had a cuppa with the farmer and put the world to rights. There was a lot of dark clouds and showers to start with and I was soon amongst the bunnies but when the clouds cleared it was like daylight and the bunnies disappeared. Another good night with 45 in the bag and a big longtail ?
Had a trip out yesterday afternoon with my old mate who used to be into long range shooting but hasn't fired a rifle in 5 years now , I managed to tempt him out for the day. Our plan was to hopefully get a shot at a fox but I never expected to see as many as we did ( 10 in total ) during daylight. We set up watching the gorse patch opposite and it wasnt long before I spotted foxes. 1st fox he dropped at 375 yds followed by a 2nd at 525 yds ?A magpie joined the party and landed on top of a hawthorn bush at 315 yds and was duly vaporized ? I had Back in Black autographed by Brian Johnson and sold it for £1 when I first met the future wife to buy her a birthday present back in 1987 ......wish I'd kept it.
Ozzy Osbourne was my favourite growing up and I have a stick in the car with every track hes ever done on it including a lot of Sabbath tracks. Cant beat a bit Led Zeppelin or AC/DC.
I'm just out on fox patrol now Stav , didn't realise it was a full moon. We were up the shoot this morning and filled up all the feeders , nice to be out when it wasnt raining ?
Yep same here, the field they were getting on they've done a flit. Hopefully next month they find it again once the turnips have come through , fingers crossed.
Well last night was perfect rabbit shooting conditions, dark and breezy ? I decided to shoot some fields next to the quarry which I haven't lamped yet and there was bunnies all over. I only shot 3 fields going round and round as the rabbits kept coming out. I shot a couple with myxy so will just wait and see if it gets a strong hold ? Final bag was 65 ?
