  1. cheers mate, right back you regarding yours. cheers, yeah i think my missus would have a heart attack if i brought home a big beast like your young dog (belter though it is), she's already not happy cause i guaranteed her this pup would be the 'same size' as the 20" beddy/whippet i had a few years back, oops
  2. Had the pup just about 12 month now, gone from 16tts and 13kg to 26tts and 23kg. I'm obviously biased but think she's turned into a cracking looking dog, must admit i didn't bond with her straight away but she's my best pal now, she comes to work with me so we're practically joined at the hip, cannot wait to get her going in September, she's keen as anything so got a feeling she's more raring to go than me
  3. she's 15 months mate, she hasn't done much yet and know what you mean, i'm planning on letting her get stuck in from September so would be a nightmare if she came a cropper with it early on. Think i'll get her to the vet soon, this thread has given me a kick up the arse to get it done, so cheers
  4. mines the same, breeder took one dew claw off and left the other?! she's had no problem with it but tempted to get it removed before September. Nice pup
  5. Quality mate, lucky to be in that position, I'm in a similar one and try my hardest not to take it for granted. Great pics, dogs look well, I bet they're loving having you about more
  6. my pup now had a run in (by complete mistake) at 13 months, did the job, before she'd even had a rabbit for the first time, really surprised me as she's still quite an immature pup mentally. Would have been interesting to see how she developed now though if given that specific job in the future
  7. yeah don't know how i never learn, did the same thing last month up Ilkley Moor and nearly got lost in a blizzard that came in within 5 mins?! Walked around for a couple of hours but didn't sniff of anything which was disappointing in all that land, had my dinner planned and everything
  8. hahahahaha she's ripe for a shaving mate, even more aerodynamic when she's plowing through a herd of sheep
  9. had a couple of hours free today so took the dog for a decent wander, was sunny at home so didn't take a jacket, schoolboy error cause i was freezing my t*ts off getting hammered with sleet within 10 mins! Got the chance to work on some stock breaking which was useful and the pup seems to be getting it, although this picture might suggest different
  10. nice pup mate, bet she'll be a big strong girl in a few months time. I'm down your way in a couple of weeks, where's your shop i'll come in for a Hunting Life discount scalping
  11. 13 month old deer/grey x collie/grey, gonna be more than ready for next season
  12. nice looking dog that, definitely my type but if i bought another big beast home the missus would be booting us all out, no life for a dog living in a cardboard box
  13. Nice bitch her fair play, how tall is she? cheers, been putting a lot of time into her and feeding her the best raw stuff i can get hold of, she's 26", not a big weighty heffer though, only 23kg
  14. Nice looking pup pal cheers mate, pleased with her, really strengthening up and packing on some lean muscle now
  15. Nice dog fella, should have some fun with that cheers mate, only wanted a rabbit dog really but she's already exceeded that, turned into a bloody monster in the last month, must be a girl thing
  16. Mine had her first the other day, so is now officially a rabbiting dog. 13 month old deer/grey x collie/grey
  17. nice stuff, any deals for a collar and lead bought together? (worth asking eh... )
  18. one of the best posts i've ever read on this forum.
  19. i've got a 13 month old bitch who's not so much skittish, but very immature and excitable, especially with other dogs, honestly it's like she's 3 months old when she's around them, acting like a right daft thing, recall is ok but have to be on at her constantly with it, and if there's another dog about i might as well forget about it. Anyway, i decided to hold her back from lamping or even seeing a bunny as thought she's not steady enough, all went out of the window the other morning when she spotted a big red in the field, i only wanted her for bunnies but lets just say she did a good job
  20. great photos, amazing thing your missus is doing, did you not fancy the trip
  21. RIP Pipper, what a lovely looking bitch, very sorry for your loss mate
  22. cheers! Yeah she's still a bit lightweight, i went abroad the other week and had to leave her with a friend for 10 days, they fed her absolute crap budget dry and she dropped 3kg and lost what muscle she had started to build. Scary really the difference diet makes. She's back on the quality raw now though so will hopefully keep improving condition and put some strength into those chicken legs
  23. she's yours if you want to swap for a 60kg bull cross/stack of outdated Countrymans Weekly/6 tins of Pedigree Chum ha those slippers were destroyed within 2 weeks of having her, shame as they were absolute belters, impossible to replace
  24. The pup is 12 months old now, this will be my last update on the thread, hopefully get a few pictures when she's out and about next season though. She's 26 tts now, don't know if she'll get any bigger, hasn't put on any size in the last couple of months. Training going well, recall/retrieve pretty much there, still not 100% around stock so need to keep plugging away with that. Had a couple of runs on bunnys and 'close calls' with a couple of roe, no catches yet. Was tempted to lamp her in the last month or so but decided to give it a few months, she's still very much a pup so think i'll l
