  1. managed to get down the canal, through the woods and round the field in under 30 mins, keeps the walks interesting. Feel a bit daft showing my crap phone photos after seeing Fuji's amazing pics on Ennerdale topic though Pup packed on 4kg and 2 inches in height in less than 3 weeks, absolutely great temperament too, really pleased with her so far, although feels like she's just waiting and lulling me into a false sense of security, before getting an attitude and turning into a maniac
  2. Great pics, that bitch is a real head turner. What a beauty
  3. great photos. How old are the pups now mate and how long have they been doing big long treks like that? They must have some stamina already!
  4. got any more pics of the pup, looks a cracking dog and must be pretty switched on for 5 months!
  5. I just find it almost degrading to the pro game and to seasoned pro fighters that someone like that kid Ogogo can get an Olympic bronze......then immediately sign a contract under one of the biggest promotional banners in world sport and think that coming third in an amateur boxing competition carries weight of some sort !..............The fact an Olympian gets immediate tv coverage and exposure must be as hurtful to the amateur game as it is to the pros as how many Olympians are going to want to stay amateur after they scoop up a medal. Agreed. Ogogo didn't even look good at the Olympics, g
  6. Interesting stuff. Socks how much exercise do your pups get from very young (3 months onwards) out of interest? So much conflicting advice out there, my current 4 month old pup is out messing around in the garden most of the day, then on a couple of 20 min stroll's on the lead per day, bit running with other dogs when she gets the chance. Know I should be patient but would love to have her out for a bit longer, but paranoid about doing too much
  7. Good on you for volunteering mate, what you doing exactly? Just at the gun battery museum here. Right on the coast, stunning views, good set of lads and i help out with school groups and tours etc. Most of the other volunteers are old ex army men so being young gives a different dimension and the kids seem to look at me as an older brother type so they really listen and behave. Good 'job satisfaction' from working with kids i tell you Nice one. Yeah that sort of thing is rewarding, I run youth projects for a living and it's a good feeling knowing that you're having a positive impact on
  8. Good on you for volunteering mate, what you doing exactly?
  9. Night off tonight, sat in garden now with the pup trying (and failing) to get her to retrieve! Then all weekend trapped in horrible gym with sweaty blokes training for upcoming fights, might try and sneak a couple of beers in the gym bag, but that probably wouldn't be setting the best example as a coach!
  10. Proper looking dog that, great to see the pics showing how she's developed
  11. Your dogs always look in good nick mate, they look they're smiling in most of those pics, must have had a decent brekkie!
  12. Cracking looking pup! How tall mate?
  13. Horrible, very sorry to read that, what a brave little bitch
  14. Great post, you've got very similar ideas to me on the subject of Pretty Boy Floyd! It is a massive shame that he's not in an era of other genuine standout fighters around his weight, I think he'd be competitive with any of the 'Fab 4' you mention, but I'd favour them all over him, for various reasons that would take me hours to write out! Morales is a good shout, never even considered him as a fantasy opponent for Floyd, I could see him having success with his long slashing punches, he's one of my favourite modern day fighters, first fight with Barrera is still the best I've ever watc
  15. Big can of worms that, lots of people argue for same day weigh in but in my experience guys will still try to cut weight to gain a size advantage, and dehydrating then fighting a couple of hours later is a recipe for disaster and brain injury. When I boxed as an amateur I did some daft stuff to make weight, not eating for 24hours, sauna etc, there's still a culture in boxing that lower weight is always better, but I think I'd have fought better at least one weight division up and with body fully replenished. I think 2 weigh in's like you say could be an option, at the top level a few cham
  16. That's the thing with boxing, so much to talk about, and no other sport has the amount of variables that come into play on the night, only ever takes one punch for all our predictions to go out the window and leave us looking like mugs ha I've never even posted on the general forum before, great to know there's some knowledgable boxing folk here, I will visit more often!
  17. Agree with everything you say about Mayweather's strengths, he's great in all areas, underrated on the inside like you say. Alvarez is still the toughest fight out there for him though, below middleweight, Floyd looked like he'd lost a step against Cotto, Guerrero couldn't exploit anything cause he just wasn't good enough and Mayweather's style is made for a southpaw, but if Canelo can keep a high work rate (will that extra 2 pound loss effect him?) then you never know...
  18. Not sure if ive read that right.....but you surely cant be saying he lacks heart ?.............The one thing that has surprised me about that lad is he seems game to the bone...........you dont complete 12 rounds with a poor chin getting up off the floor numerous times without " will and desire " Satan80 the " blueprint " you talk of is good to be exactly that " effective ".......its still not good enough to win.......great fighters like Mayweather have a look for a few rounds before coming up with a way to win he has faced very diverse styles and coped relatively easy............i personall
  19. My thoughts pretty much exactly. Alvarez is like a younger, fresher Cotto, who gave Floyd a real fight. Cotto set somewhat of a blueprint to be effective against Mayweather, use angles to close the gap, head on chest, combination punching and finish on the left hand, which exposed the weakness in Floyd's Philly shell defence when on the ropes, he got caught over and over leaning back to his right. Problem is, Floyd looked to have adapted against Guerrero, didn't back up to the ropes, span off on angles back to centre ring, didn't get lazy and dictated behind his back hand like normal.
  20. Amazing story mate. I'd love some anti folk to read this, really shows how nasty these big bad hunting men are eh? Keep the thread updated, all the best
  21. All your dogs look in great condition mate, that 29" dog is some animal. What do you feed them out of interest?
  22. amazing photos, makes me want to sack off work and live in the hills with the dog like a wild man!
  23. No offence taken mate. Of course it's something i've considered in the last few weeks. It's just that i don't think i've given the pup as good a chance as he deserves. In honesty i wanted a mooching dog, take a few rabbits here and there, but also be a companion and family pet. I've had a beddy whippet and a terrier over the years that fitted that bill perfectly, so maybe naively thought it would be that easy again. It became clear over the months that Ozzy just wasn't that kind of dog, he's far too highly driven, and although he's been 90% great, i can tell he's not happy in the house and h
  24. Thanks for the decent messages here, and everyone who has offered to take the pup on. I think i've got a good home for Ozzy not far from me, where he'll be given a chance to be the great dog i'm sure he'll be in the future. Gutted isn't the word, hope things work out for the little guy
  25. I write this message with a heavy heart, and i'm gutted to have to do so. I'm looking for a new home for my dog Ozzy, and 8 month old wheaton greyhound x beddy whippet. I've had Ozzy since he was 8 weeks old and he's a great dog in many ways - his recall is 90 % there, he's great with other dogs, housetrained, good in a crate, doesn't bark, travels fine in the car, knows all basic commands. Unfortunately he has had issues with food aggression, i've sought help and advice from numerous people and have worked on this for 4 months, he's now fine around food in his bowl but still guards b
