  1. I've been running with my 15 month old for the last couple of months, i do 4-5 miles a couple of times a week and will probably step her up to 3/4 times a week in the next couple of months. She trots along side me on lead for most of the run but let her off a few times to have a dip in the canal and a little wander in the woods, she does struggle with the continual trotting but her stamina is improving. Agree with above, just gradually building up makes sense to make sure ligament and tendons strengthen up and adapt slowly
  2. mine's a bit of pain, nothing malicious but just wants to chase them down and scruff them. Most other owners are fine as it's obvious she's just a big daft dog playing, but i do cringe sometimes when a little ball of fur starts running towards us, as i know it will be pinned down with mines full gob around its neck in seconds
  3. Cheers, deer/grey x collie/grey Been easy to train, recall decent, spot on steady around people/kids etc, but reverts back to a 3 month old complete muppet around other dogs, just wants to play and jump all over them, proper embarrassing pain i the a*se sometimes
  4. that is a great looking dog!! proper long legs on him, is he 45 " TTS or is that your son stood with him?!
  5. Satan, when she's approaching 2 years of age and strengthening up, is when you'll really start to see her developing even more 'serious speed' lol. She should learn how to control her turning and her speed the more experience she gets. I'll get my lad to pm some pics of our bitch to you. Despite being almost 29" tts, she doesn't struggle picking up rabbits lol cheers mate, if she gets any faster she'll never be able to stop when she gets going, nearly ko'd me going at full pelt the other day She's got no problem getting low and picking up, so yeah hopefully the turning will get bet
  6. I'm sure there was a topic like this a couple of years back but just had a search and can only find the 'let's see your whippet/small lurcher' topic! My pup is pushing 27"tts at 15 months now, didn't expect her to be this size and my previous dogs have been little beddy/whippets, so interested to hear other people's experiences working the bigger dogs. Mine has some serious speed at full gallop but already struggling turning sharply behind quarry, i'm hoping this will improve with experience as she sees more. She's been slow to mature mentally too so held her back from any regular work, but
  7. Yeah Arguello was incredible, not many tall guys like him could fight as well on the inside. The Kalambay - McCallum fights are great, 2 real class operators. Who has Mayweather fought that has that kind of skill level? I'd say only Marquez, and he was 2 weight divisions above his best at the time. I agree Mayweather is a great fighter, but i can't put him near the best of all time because he simply hasn't fought a high enough level of opposition and without question handpicked his fights - ducked prime Cotto, ducked Margarito when he was destroying everyone at welterweight, ducked Pau
  8. my pups dam and sire both 25, she only hit 25 at 12 months but is now 26 and looks like she's taking another stretch, think we both better keep those fingers crossed mate
  9. Yeah McCallum is pretty much as good as it gets for me, every shot in the book and made it look so easy, a real throwback. It makes me laugh when people are creaming their pants about Mayweather and giving it 'the best ever' nonsense, that's why i did that video really, McCallum had more skills than Floyd and no-ones heard of him. McCallum would have stood both Froch and Groves on their heads on the same night, but the sky hype machine has really got out of control, yesterday i read someone claiming Froch is now one of the top 20 p4p fighters of all time. Jesus wept
  10. Wow, Honeyghan - Curry and Hearns in Detroit, bet they were some nights!!! I haven't been to as many 'big' fights as i should have, because unless i was ringside it would be pointless for me i think, i'm a bit obsessive about the technical aspect of the game so would rather be sat at home with a notepad like the weirdo nerd that i am Were you at this fight gnasher by any chance?
  11. monster right hand, not much you can do when the equaliser like that lands. Had Groves slightly ahead and thought he was taking over in the 7th, full respect to Froch the man is a true animal, massive night for British boxing, great undercard too
  12. I disagree with pretty much everything you've said. Lol. Fight prep isn't just physical. It's mental. Which you will know I'm sure? If I told you that you were gonna fight a kid tomorrow who hasn't done much and you will walk all over him, and then a tough strong fighter is put in front of you then you wouldn't be prepared. Mentally. It's not something I want to argue with you over the internet about though. We will see on Saturday won't we Yep and i don't think either Froch or Groves mental state can be questioned after the first fight, they both imposed themselves at
  13. saying all that, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Froch wins, it's a very intriguing fight as they've both proved they can seriously hurt each other, Froch's temperament in big fights is unquestionable and Groves proved he could handle the step up to true world level. You can never predict boxing with any certain accuracy which is why i'm stll as obsessed with the sport as i was as a little kid! I've got a sparring session with one of my fighters planned for Saturday afternoon, he's 10 years younger than me and a real banger so hoping i don't get KO'd and miss the big fight, if that happ
  14. No mate. No doubts. Groves couldn't hurt Froch at his worst so how's he gonna deal with him at his best? Yes groves is a more technical boxer and scores points. But he's gotta score points and survive for 12 rounds to win. That's not gonna happen. And he sure as hell isn't gonna stop Froch. Go watch Froch V Kessler 2, round 12. Tell me groves could stand and take that? I don't think so. Cheers. If you watched that fight and can't see that Froch was hurt, multiple times, then you don't know your boxing. He was out on his feet in the first round, whether he was just caug
  15. But he repeatedly nailed Froch with counter right hands throughout the entire fight, dominated with the jab and proved himself to be the more accurate puncher. Froch's defence has always been face first, and he's been shipped big punishment by sharp punchers his entire career (Ward, Taylor, Dirrel) but he's got away with it for so long as he's got an iron chin and great durability. The fact that he was dropped so heavily by Groves is an indication that he the chin might be on it's way out however, or that Groves is a bigger puncher than anyone he's faced before, which is why i'm picking Ca
  16. after yesterdays success i couldn't give a f*ck if mine ever catches anything ever again, it's all about the rosettes from now on
