  1. I am saving up for one ,going to match it on the fens, there being no legal reason why I shouldn't.
  2. This is a good link I went on a shoot in Brentwood Essex a couple of times through it. http://pubs.myfunforum.org/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=541 If I hear of any local, I'll give you a PM.
  3. I can recommend this for humans too,I allways put a pinch in strategic areas when going out on the pull ,never failed me yet, everyone comments on it,and fleas are unknown about my person. Come to think of it ,so are women.
  4. No , they are far too slow ,they need prairies to run on,are slow to turn ,and only catch their prey after running them to exhaustion in marathons, not only that ,but they cannot jump, or handle cover.Totally unsuitable as a base for any sort of general purpose hunter. They are also boring to watch, and unbiddable. Does that about cover it? you are talking absolute rubbish, it is quite clear you do not wish to improve your running dog/lurcher, You are correct.ps I see you come from Annan , where is Annan ? Is it anywhere near Onan?

Does that about cover it? I know just what you mean Inan: bloody useless dogs all round aren't they: makes you wonder why so many died in the wool hunting people insist on keeping them :tongue2: Yes indeed! like that famous quote in, "Shakespeare In Love", " It's A

  9. Poacher's pups are a credit to him ,a lovely ,lively, strong lot of ,chunky , mischief makers, the epitome of what pups should look like.
  10. Good info Tomm ,but a trifle fattening ,judging by your avatar.
  11. Ive seen a couple of litters they were so variable in appearance I don't see how they can be called a strain, unless that refers to one's credibility. You've seen a good one? Well Iv'e seen a bad one that was a pain in the arse constanly growling at other dogs yet when run on big game it lacked any heart at all ,refusing to go in ,and just running alongside it was too slow for rabbits ,and had no nuts for anything else, one swallow does not make a summer in either case, but as far as I am concerned the term tumbler is a marketing gimmick.
  12. No-being a bull x would make it a donkey! A tumbler is obviously an even clumsier dog that falls arse over tit when catching a rabbit. Even supposing these claims to be accurate, why would a dog that rugby tackles its prey everytime to bring it down , be considered an asset to one's kennels? A dog that knowing it has its last chance of a catch , makes a desperate do or die final effort is acceptable, even desirable ,imo ,but one that utilises this method every time to catch would not be an animal that would expect to survive long without injury to ribs , shoulders, or neck ,if r
  13. mate i have been out wae loads a diffrent crosses an types a lurchers, pure whippets an even greys an i have seen dogs from most types tumble an come up wae a bunny, 1 a the best i seen at it was a beddy whippet, does that make him a tumbler????? from what i gathered off yer man burrel was that in his dogs they had special shoulders to help them tumble on strike i beleive the man, but there again im away to catch nessie on a single red maggot later Mr Burrell has kept this strain pure for many generations and it is jealously guarded. The original dogs were as follows. 14. P ,I think the problem with gazelles is getting near enough to slip on them, there's no cover to take advantage of. There are single handed gazelle courses on You tube ,which seem to be marathons run at a very fast pace ,extremely impressive.
  15. Hello D. I'll ask around up my end, see if anyone knows anything.
