  1. Nice to see you back on here, how is your pup doing and the parvo survivor,I was going to get in touch with Jimoh soon ,Ive been bringing a pup on ,just started him on the lamp, hes 9 months and not caught yet but keen.hope your dogs are all well.INAN.
  2. A picture is worth a thousand words! A friend of mine had one of these "tumblers" it was aggresive ,even to bitches, useless on all quarry and would course a fox turning and turning it bit never going in,I said it loked like a Husky cross, and have since been told that Burrells mate breeds huskies, not a type for me.
  3. I aint eating no f cking fox or mole Mole casseroled in red wine is rather good but take off the velvet top coat,Fox is rather pungent ,especially if you leave the anal glands in,but hey meats meat!

    New toy

Great action shots Molly, over theyears Ive tried to get pics of my dogs on the coursing field or lamping, none were a patch on yours, good stuff.INAN
  5. Id go for Drontal plus ,about £2 each ,you can get them cheaper online if you buy in bulk .
  6. My coursing lurcher dislocated a toe on his first meet on the fens ,took him to a track vet ,he suggested taking the toe off but as the dog was still young tried blistering the toe ,and resting him ,this worked and he has caught a lot ofhares and won quite a few trophys for coursing ,I cant emphasise enough ,GO TO A TRACK VET<dont take a running gog to a general practise vet for anything except run of the mill injuries and jabs, all the best,INAN.
  7. Is this the one Foxdropper? Watched that a few weeks back - thought the same as you Is it how they train the hounds?? I have to say I had real problems with it. [u rl=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4V9l4ChELo]Carted Deer Hunt[/url]v Ive kept lurchers for 37 years, for coursing lamping ferreting, and all bush work ,I also shoot and beat on shoots my dogs have taken all game ,so I am certainly not an anti ,but that Carted Deer Hunt was F*****g disgraceful, the idea of running quarry with dogs, any quarry ,is that it is run on its own ground,so it knows the terrain and escape route
  8. Many thanks Meerhunter,a bit different to catching Roe and Munties!
  9. Couple of airdales near me with seperate owners ,both of them are agressive with other dogs, maybe its just coincidence ,maybe not.Hansome fellas ,probably be good on Charlie ,but Id imagine they would be a bit cloddy and slow for all round work, but Ive no experience of them.
  10. Personally Id give it a misstonight ,dogs that have eaten can be subject to torsion, where the stomach twists due to the food in it,thats just my opinion.
  11. I enjoy all types of running but Id have to say singlehanded hare coursing is to me the pinnacle ,I beleive the hare is our supreme athlete, and to see him given fair law and coursed by a good dog on big land in January is as good as it gets,a spectacle I never tire of,its exiting, dramatic, poetic, and aesthetically ,and emotinally fullfilling.
  12. Had a 10lb jill hare and a 23lbs dog fox,but I know others whohave taken bigger foxes ,we dont get many Deer down here so usually have to travel for them.
  13. I have worked lurchers all my life from the age of seven with my Grandfather and uncles to now at 46,what I get from shows when competing is the social life in the summer its a great crack to meet friends catch up and see their dogs and sponge their way of doing things. It was a bonus to me to see my dog win a race or trophy. The reason I started to run our show was I am not prepared to see my sport go underground I like freinds who help me are great belivers in strength in numbers ,when at shows in huge numbers like at our show last year over 450 dogs it is an opportunity to show the anti y

  20. Id like to butt in here if I may ,anyone got an opinion on the Fugi fine pix,the one about 250 quid ,is it ok for wildlife pics ,Im attracted by the zoom on it ,but know nothing about cameras advice would be appreciated.Inan
  21. Very good point Sky Cat pups usually dont come off too bad ,and they learn early about this detestable stuff,Im in Kent ,its riddled with the stuff lazy stock keeping in many cases especially around horses, and as has been said on here it gets left to be a hazard forever, cost me a few bob over the years.Inan
