  1. Warm olive oil Youre right ,Id just add dont forget to dry the ear when the job is done ,to stopdebris sticking to the residue,Ive also used basic human ear drops to good effect, some dogs seem to make excess wax ,dont know why,but the remedies mentioned on here should correct it,and cheaper than the vets drops.Inan
  2. Ive been told a drop of cooking oil in the food helps stop this ,havent tried it so cant vouch for it.Inan
  3. JDF,Ive found Jeyes stains the concrete of the run and if you allow the dogs in they stink like a public toilet,Im sure it does the job but unless you are George Michael ,the attraction is pretty limited.Inan.
  4. Witton vitamin e is good for stamina ,I allways gave it to my dogs before a coursing stake, dont give it with their food as it can destroy the protein in it,,Feramo is a good general supplement ,and a proven one never used sa37 but others in my coursing clubs did ,and spoke well of it .Orovite 7 is avery good supplement ,its all essential minerals ,you can give it in the feed ,it wont interfere with the protein content ,George Curtess the trainer of Bally Regan Bob put me on to it . frank sheardown

Jdf ,Ive met Frank a few times ,when out coursing ,he doesnt live too far from me,he is [or was ] into deerhound crosses ,he must be quite old now,he isnt a fan of coursing with lurchers ,and when Ive met him its usuallybeen at greyhound meets, hes a nice old fella, had a very interesting life ,most of it in Africa ,Db Plummer put him on the map really by giving him a mention in one of his books[hunters all]Franks ok but there isnt anything ultra special in his books ,Id say his Life story ,A Man Of The Field is the most entertaining, probably best to do as advised and get them from the library.I
  6. Scotty, the best way to give eggs is after hard work, crack two in a cup ,fill the cup with boiling water stand for about a minute, until the whites develop, drain off the excess watwer and add to meal, this method doesnt interfere with the biotin in the dogs intestine,as it destroys the biotin in the eggs, and also makes it more digestiblethe eggs will help in muscle protein rebuilding ,lost by hard work.Inan
  7. nice strong looking pup ,all the best with him,Ive a n 8 month old whippet /beddie xgrey collie whippet/beddie,hes a pain in the butt at the moment but learning slowly, took him ferreting with Magwitch[on here]hes gradually getting there. Its what you put in to them really ,as I say all the best with yours.Inan.
  8. Lovely looking bitch very neat head on her.
  9. nice pics Nathan, looks like you had a good day.
  10. I think that coyotes differ according to the environment, I live about 7000 km from Texas and we have large coyote near the bush areas and smaller faster coyote on the prarries. My dogs are bred for hunting faster prarrie coyotes. They half alot of grey in them the tan dog is half greyhound from the track. he would 3/4 grey rest mix of stag. Any way my dogs do catch jackrabbit, fox , coyote and pretty much any thing that runs away. my dogs are not as big as some. jack rabbits are hard to find around me so I do not hunt them on purpose ut when I take the dogs running they find the odd one
  11. Ive seen 3 of his breeding {tumblers],dont know the man personally ,he judged a show at Welling borough I attended years ago ,I didnt think much of the {tumblers],they looked like Husky crosses, and curiously ,I was told that one of his friends breeds Huskies,,a guy in our coursing club had oneof his dogs ,it was too heavy for coursing ,agressive ,even with bitches yet wouldnt go in on foxes ,it would course them, bending them over and over ,but refusing to tackle them,a friend of mine went to view a litter many moons ago ,he said their were dogs in cupboards and under shelves in the house,h

  16. WElcome Up hill Doc ,do you course coyotes? Ive allways wanted to see that,I know Dutch Salmon and Leon Almirall wrote books on it ,Ive never been able to get any footage of it on dvd or video.
  17. I thought Chippers dogs were pretty fair, though they were a bit sticky at reliquishing their catch ,at least he could get them to stay where he wanted them ,and they retreived well,he strikes me as a good guy ,no bullshit about him,I thought the dvds were pretty interesting,of course its allways more engrossing if you know the people ,or dogs personally ,but they were alot better than some dvds Ive seen.
  18. Dan dont know if youve got a clulite or not {I have ]these have a small "walking" beam on them ,its for opening gates ,putting your dog back on the slip etc, the theory behind the various filters is that Rabbits [and foxes] dont get so educated to them ,especially in areas that are heavily lamped ,so that you are suppossed to be able to get nearer ,then you can flip up the filter at the critical moment,I dont use them but many lampers swear by them personal chopice,I find the little walking beam invaluable.
  19. Id say in my experience there have been more top class singles bitched than dogs ,and that bitches generally come to hand earlier, personally ive allways kept dogs ,but Ive seen many more good bitches than dogs, just cant be doing with the seasons.
