  1. Id say the poor little sod is too tired to go outside, what is he thinking of ?Giving the pup 2hrs roadwork at that age,Ive had a young dog occassionaly have an accident in itskennel when its had a long day ,but no way should he be giving a pup of that age that much stick,he will ruin its joints for one thing,if he wont listen ,Id take the dog back.
  2. Many thanks, decent slips ,and the dogs showes a bit of puff for greyhounds.
  3. Come to think of it ,its probably better with the sound off!
  4. Had a near miss this morning ,bought a Warrener Foxing video off E Bay,came today ,thoughtId check out the quality,on my PC,puts it on ,my two lurchers were crashed out on the lounge floor, the first segment I tried was the Warrener calling in a fox ,he starts squeaking ,up jumps Smokey,my 13month old rabbiting pup, straight into the PC knocking my tea over and just missing the computer keyboard, had to watch it with the sound off, nearly an expensive lesson there!
  5. Yes and make sure the dog has emptied itself first,I had one stop dead for a dump pulled me off backwards, how I laughed!
  6. Nice lookers ,allways thought this an interesting cross,if you can get the best qualities of the three.
  7. How much roadwork were you doing? Its possible youve worn the pads down it can happen if you give them too much too soon. When the pads are healed you could try running it on the grass verge beside the bike.
  8. I allways give mine a good talking to just before we go out ,telling them just what we are after, and what we are not ,thats me in the clear then as far as Im concerned. does it work ? NO!
  9. Dont overdo the bike at first, you will wear their pads out a couple of miles a day will do i,up the pace gradually,I used to give mine about 6 miles a day, done in 5o mins ,but you really have to build it slowly.

  11. Dont know the answer to your question, but all the best with your pup.Inan.
  12. I had a dog that was continually opening up his stopper ,had it taken off in the end ,never bothered him again, friends of mine used to strap their dogs stoppers up for coursing meetings ,I bought stopper protectors ,you can get them in leather or wax covered like Barbours, they have a velcro fastening and arent that dear.a good hardener for old wounds is surgical spirit, hope this helps. Where did you get the stopper protectors from Inan? Do they stay put or slide around? I use the inner tube from a bicycle for my dog. You can get different diameters to suit & they don't slip, but I wo

Sorry to hear your news,it rips the guts out of you when a dog dies ,especially before its time ,my sympathies.

  16. Spinner was a very good dog ,killed in a traffic accident, some time back,I have some footage of it running very determined and all over its game,Im not familiar with the other dog,is it an Iranian import ?
  17. Take it slow ,good to hear you have got your pup retreiving ,I would concentrate on that and its recall for now,its money in the bank for later on,establish a real bond with the dog and dont worry if it doesnt start picking up before its a year old ,small steps, all the best with it,and be careful of that hard ground. Inan.
  18. As far as I know this is the first time the Fell andMoorland have held a show at this venue ,I posted the details just to help out,but thanks for your valuable input,by the way I think you have spelled your name wrong.
  19. There is a Terrier and Lurcher Show this Sunday at Cliffe in Kent ,next to the Cliffe working Mans Club.
  20. Penny Taylor writes some good articles in the CW,she is a good dog woman and has a wealth of experience, including Coursing ,ferreting, foxing ,and ratting,Penny knows a fair bit about dogs health and welfare too. I suppose the C W is in an awkward position regarding some aspects of Field sports,it cant be seen to be promoting"banned sports",so inevitably it appears watered down,by the standards of yesterday.
  21. Both the lamps mentioned by Lurchers 2006 are good I used a cluson lazerlightfor years ,its a good lamp for rabbits ,and the walking beam is very handy for undoing gates etc, when mine wore out I bought a Lightforce Striker, its a good lamp ,but the connections are not that great ,most guys do a diy job on the connection,I find they do drain the battery rather quick, for bunnies Id go for the Clulite,Lazer.
  22. Sorrt to hear that ,all the best with your dog.
  23. Nice to see someone putting the time and effort in to basic training your fella will be a real asset and partner later on ,he is a real stalker of the dummy isnt he?well done all the best in the future.
