to be fair if a magpie needs rescuing off a roof I wouldn't have though it's going to survive that long anyway!!! The RSPCA inspector most probably thought it was a Penguin! After all, most of those halfwits know f**k all about wildlife.

The fire brigade should've told them to 'f**k off and stop wasting our time!'

Your wrong mate..........all the townies that watch that will just think its wrong to kill badgers, especially when they show little cute fluffy wuffy ones playing together........ They will when they see footage of badgers etc. yes, but when they hear some of the things he says then even the thickest anti must be cringing! No one on earth apart from him thinks that moving a farm somewhere else would even be remotely plausible, I bet it's not even entered the mind of 99.9% of antis because it's such a stupid concept. And him talking about how money shouldn't be an issue, ever single per

When I was a kid, It was the highlight of my TV week. I used to run home from school, watch out of town while quickly eating my tea, then I'd be over the garden fence into the fields and woods. Lovely memories -
I doubt he's ever seen a badger, other than in an animal 'rescue' centre. When you see someone, looks can often be deceptive, but in his case they're spot on - he looks a total prat

Good stuff, John. P.S Looks like the Foxes round your way are collecting scrap metal now!
-
I've had a few like that over the years, and some I've put down to them having an encounter with a terrrier, but I've been fairly certain that most of the injuries have been inflicted by another Fox, as simoman says. This is one from earlier this year, it also had a wound along it's back.
-
It's what we've come to expect from the BIASED broadcasting corporation.

I read something recently about a study on Foxes, and researchers had found that when Mousing, Foxes nearly always faced magnetic north before pouncing in the characteristic way. There was a theory about why this was, but I can't remember what it was, but this post has got me thinking, so I'll have to find it out again now!

Too true, there's no shame in it. If only the majority would see that. Dream job too!

Denise, let me start by saying to be a member of this forum, having a tough skin and a sense of humour is a must, secondly people are going are going to be naturally wary of a new member (rightly so in light of recent events), and starting a thread with obvious "attitude" will just put folks back up. My advice would be have a laugh, gain what information you can, share your experiences and enjoy the forum, but most of all chill out, its only the tinterweb What i would like to say, and this is not directed at anyone of this thread is some members need to grow up and move on a little with

You must've watched the same programme as me! My favourite part's where 'old Brock' god bless him, was quietly ambling through a meadow, when he came upon a Skylarks nest, and ever so carefully tiptoed around it so as not to disturb the sleeping chicks?
-
Must have slipped through the BBC net, that one! LOL. There must be litterally thousands of Bumble Bee nests dug up by Badgers each year, but for some reason we hear very little about it being a possible factor in the decline of these species. The 'fluffy bunny brigade' would prefer us to believe that all threats to our native species are a direct result of man. They also prefer not to believe the ammount of cereal crops that Badgers flatten and contaminate, pasture land they dig up, etc, etc. Maybe I've been wrong all this time , and Badgers really do only eat worms and berries, an

Rabbits are the only animal that can get mixy. It is a man made disease that was made purely to control the rabbit population! The only way Billy could spread it is if it was to collect a sack of infected rabbits and move them to a different area. Not very likely Far to many of them down my way, they cause more grief for the keepers than foxes do! That's not strictly correct. Myxi is spread by fleas and other blood sucking parasites, so for example, if a flea has fed from an infected Rabbit, then later jumps onto a Badger, it could 'hitch a lift' a considerable distance. Badgers trave

Was that your reason for making sticks then? to bang on the bedroom floor so she'd fetch you another cuppa! Got to admire your style

Nice work. You must have lots of patience!

Lots of good advice above. If they're kept well there's a good chance that the egg yield won't drop too much. Also, egg production is linked to changing patterns of daylight, so providing some sort of artificial light in the hen house will keep them in lay longer.

Same here, It amazes me how some people can actually believe they're rare!!

You're spot on mate, sometimes you've got to wonder who drafts some of it!

It wasn't just a class thing. An awful lot of people who wanted and support a total ban on hunting, could probably be described as 'lower' class. IMO and experience, ignorance is a big factor. They believe all the shit they're told by the media, about animals not needing to be controlled (and all control methods are cruel), and what they see in most of the wildlife programmes on tv where animals are given names and portrayed as having human traits etc. If only people took the time to look deeper and see the reality..... think that was the point he was trying to make,by mentioning lo
