  1. I got this book a few days ago, It was a great read, and the only bad point was, It was far too short! The chapter on Australia was particularly good. Highly Recommended. FF
  2. Exactly! And buying 2 25yrd nets to practice is a money wasting exercise, Because within no time at all you will learn to run out a quickset with your eyes closed, And the 2 25yrd nets will be hung up in the shed after you buy a 100yrd net. If you were using a traditional, I would advise learning on something smaller like a 50yrd, But as Tiercel said, with a quickset, it makes no difference, just the time. Quicksets are simplicity itself.
  3. I see what you mean about the hedgeline, It is a good advantage as it will break your outline, I would still be tempted to go in front of the red area though...30yrds isnt bad, assuming you have a dark enough night, and maybe a bit of a wind....I have found that making any noise approaching the rabbits, ie, getting over fences, gates even from far away etc can actually do more damage than if you get on top of them silently and work steady running out the net...There less likely to move when you are between them and there exits assuming you work slowly and steadily. Failing that, I would p
  4. Try Component Force, just type it into google
  5. The rabbits your intending to net are coming from the blue area, and feeding in the yellow area? But you have ferreted the red area and your afraid the rabbits will run to those holes instead of the blue area? If I am right, what would stop you netting across the front of the red area, therefore preventing them even going there...?
  6. I took a rabbit from a purse net below a hedge recently and passed it out to my mate as I was in too awkward a place to stretch it, He thought I had already done it and walked over and set it with the rest, when It got up an done a runner! The dog bowled him over before he got away!
  7. Lambs tails are meant to drop off through lack of circulation, Used them for a couple of seasons without any rotting problems Y.I.S Leeview Spot on, people say they rot, But mine have been on almost 3 years on one net - Still intact.
  8. People seem to think whippets are frail shivery little dogs who can only catch a few rabbits, they've never seen a whippet working! My mate has a whippet and a smaller whippet cross, two outstanding dogs, and have taken double figure bags on the hardest nighs each on their own.
  9. I bought this AA S410 .177 from a member on the site before the summer, Its pre AT and in outstanding condition. I didnt realise I needed an FAC and after waiting too many months on it to come, I got the gun back, I had it serviced and filled up localy. I had about half a day out with it and Its not for me at all, I have decided to sell it on to someone who will get more use from it. The gun comes with a great Rhino Scope, zoom with paralax adjust etc, A Harris Bipod, 2 Spare Mags, Cammo Sling, A BSA rifle bag with pockets, pouches and a muzzle guard. I will also throw in a brand new
  10. Can anyone recommend any of the electrolytes I have heard of? I would like to give them a try. Also anything else which might help my dog as well, I have heard of rubbing them down with some sort of stuff before running to help the muscles, But I have no idea what its called. FF
  11. Too expensive! The poles arent ones with grommets either...You could put that together yourself, just as good for half the price
  12. Cheers Chris, I'll give her a start in January maybe, I'll see how goes, still needs to fill out a bit yet!
  13. I had a good start Frank, But the rain has held me back a bit the last couple of weeks, There seems to be nobody at home in a few places!
  14. It was nice and dark and windy last night, so me and my oldest dog went out for a run, We visited a new spot & she managed 16, Its quite good for round here anywhere...Some of her runs were great and she put in some great strikes, and pulled a couple from the edge of burrows as they tried to escape, she got another at a fence and held it by the ear! growling until I got there to get it back through for her! It was a good nites craic with just me and the dog, a heavy carry back to the car, But well worth it! I let her ride shot gun for the long drive back home. My picture isnt great as its
  15. Wee dogs flying for you Fella.. Cheers Tassa...Im glad you let me know about her, Shes brilliant, never let me down yet, and showed up a lot of dogs half her age down here!
  16. I know exactly what you mean...The ends of the net have went back over itself, and when you try to untangle it it seems to go on and on and on...It happens very easy, Just take the draw cords out and back as far as the beginning of the tangle, and re thread, you can prevent it from happening again by tying a knot with the net and draw cord together as opposed to just knotting the cord on the net if that makes sense? FF
  17. I think your the warrener, Dressed up as Kathleen to promote your dvd....
  18. Ferreterni is a great net maker, and a genuine bloke - You wont go wrong with him or his nets.
  19. Hi mate, What size is it , is it swivel or not Cheers Its about 8.5" in height and it folds back - As for swivel, Im not 100% as I know nothing about them, But the gun doesnt rotate right round on it if thasts what you mean.
