  1. As good as something you would buy! Well done
  2. The baskets that JBS supply are nonsense, Look at the picture closely and you will see the poles are held in by 2 straight pieces of metal / tubing, the only thing these do is catch on the net when your running it out and catch on it even more when your running it back in, and if you do any night time netting, it will nothing short of a nuisance, The Net Lofts baskets are properly made and brilliant design, by someone who knows what they are doing, I would definitely go for a better basket from the Net Loft.
  3. Ferreterni is a genuine bloke, and a good net maker, nobody will have any trouble dealing with him, he gave me something long and hairy one night in a dark car park as well! Turned out a great ferret!
  4. I have tried every headlamp under the sun for the last few years for fishing and everyone has had some fault or another, The best I have found for general use has been a Princeton Tec, and there not too expensive.
  5. Does that method take everything out in one go, I usually leave the liver & kidneys
  6. I have a few kits left now for anyone interested.
  7. I have used 2 different MK3's and on both it was always 1ft closer, like you said, So if it says 3ft, I dig very carefully after 1ft.
  8. This is my 20" little belter, A bit older now, But still doing her stuff
  9. Mines strip the skull completely, I usually find ears and a skull minus a brain and eyes in the next box.
  10. I use both, Quicksets are very fast and good for ferreting on the easy level short grass areas, But a traditional comes into its own if your on more uneven hilly ground, and going through hedge gaps and fences etc is where they are most useful. I also have a quickset where I set the foot line quite a bit longer than the head line, and on even very rough ground its easy to keep the foot line on the ground slack, and by tilting the poles very slightly, keeping tension in the head line as well, but there are times when the traditional is still better. For night time Long Netting, the quic
  11. Dog meat.....Its too tasty, I f I was in Australia, I could happily live on Kangaroo meat
  12. I read in the CMW a few weeks ago about someone in Australia trying long netting, But instead of rabbits, they got Kangaroos, so watch out!
  13. Brilliant, Your dogs look excellent
  14. 90% of the ground I do is exactly like yours, It is dangerous digging as TP has said, My mate held me by the ankles last week when we dug down 9ft and across, and it was a stupid thing to do, It takes nothing for sand to collapse and a whole lot more to get out, and if your down far you havent a hope if your alone - Theres times when your ferret will come out a hole a lot further away than you expected, Because rabbits seemt to dig very wide in that type of ground, Just keep your eyes open all the time and I wouldnt ferret anywhere where you cant see behind, or around, and stick to small set,
  15. P&G I have to disagree, I have seen this type of net work several times without problems
  16. Brilliant, really good design, and cheap as well - I have seen a lot of other designs and they have been time consuming and expensive to make - This is the best yet...
  17. The warm wet summer over here seems to hae helped it along, Theres only one area by me that seems to get it and it got so badly hit this time last year, I havent seen one rabbit on it since....Its a pity.
  18. I headed out yesterday alone, As my dog pulled one of her dew claws off on thursday and is still a bit sore, I didnt want to risk it getting infected so she stayed behind. It wasnt half as good without her, But I had a decent bag & got away with one small dig of 2 foot to 2 rabbits. I ended up with 16 in total.
  19. 14 weeks is far too young, let the kit be a kit.
