  1. I stand corrected...It is 20%
  2. Its straight forward... Like others have said, you need a CIS (Construction industry scheme) registration, as well as a UTR, the UTR is just a reference number. When you do work for anyone as a subcontractor they deduct tax at 40% from you and give you a CIS voucher which you keep, and you pay your own NI quarterly. When your accountant tallys up your expenses at your year end, such as tools, work wear, equipment, phone, use of office etc...He works it against all the CIS vouchers you have collected during the year. The 40% tax the contractor takes from you and pays on your behalf i
  3. I had some Seeland gear last year, the Lingfield type, but I found it didnt last great, I went through 2 trousers and the jacket is just barely hanging together. It didnt get a whole lot of use for how badly it lasted, but I did like it as it was water proof but breathable and nice and light. I know the Lingfield isnt the top of the seeland gear, does anyone have any experience of something similiar but harder wearing?
  4. He did, but they were bigge than I needed, I need 30 at least!
  5. Does anyone know where I could locate 9.5mm grommets for long net poles?
  6. Regardless of what your into, everybody needs to pull together and stop it.
  7. Its only the start...They are trying to put the Irish Hare on the Permanent protection list, ban snaring and fox hunting...The coursing bill was debated in Stormont on Tuesday 22nd and they voted a Ban 23 to 18. The Green Party as well as the League against cruel sports are doing everything they can to push all this nonsense through. The Irish Hare protection will be reviewed again in the Autumn. If it is successful the Hare will be a protected species, this will not only effect Lurcher folks, but effectively shut down Northern Irelands Beagle packs. I posted a thread about this so
  8. looks like a seasoned pro there mate She does enjoy the ferreting job...
  9. You will begin to notice yourself how they mark. I myself could watch dogs ferreting all day...
  10. Maybe if they were a bit more expensive, some people would look after them a bit more...All too often they are seen as disposable, There cheap so why bother spending too much time or effort looking after it seems to be the attitude of some people.
  11. Are you trying to net the entire county young Dave? Between sewing and buying your going to catch a lot of rabbits in September!
  12. Its 2003. I tried to get a VW Caddy but they were like Hens teeth at the time and quite a bit more money too.
  13. That is what it is commonly known as mate but no doubt someone will be along soon to tell you the latin name for it and what the rabbit had for breakfast.P1
  14. There exactly the same engine, I have a Berlingo and its a diesel drinking fecker! It is on its way out soon!
  15. I did put one together last year, it turned it out quite expensive and took a lot of time and tweaking to get right...But eventually it did work well. A while later a saw a design on here for a lift or rise net as there called, I put it together in a couple of hours from an old long net, hazel poles and some end pins. Its just as effective. People have said that rabbits are unwilling to walk over it but I never had this problem in the few areas I used it as long as it was left for a while first.
  16. Excellent..Have you tried it
  17. Does anybody use a longnet for rats? I have saw them for sale recently, but I wasnt sure how effective they were.
  18. Long Nets arent difficult, a bit of practice before hand and you will pick it up in no time. You can get them in various materials, nylon, hemp etc. I have always used 4z and 6z nylon, as it tolerates being hung up and left when wet, were hemp will have to be dried otherwise it will rot. As well as this, nylon is lighter to carry when wet!
  19. I have traps out, very handy!
  20. What a dog, what a book...
  21. I must have read that book a dozen times when I was young...And I didnt even know about the film until a few years ago, Its not often the film lives up to a book, but that one certainly did
  22. I have saw Daves harnesses, they work well...One day his small jill came out with the top half of it slipped off, but the rest intact, had it of been a collar he would have had a DEEP dig while I supervised!
  23. The LACS and "Minister Poots" are in cohorts, to not only Ban hunting with dogs in Northern Ireland, but to also ban snaring of all kinds. The problem is that the bill is being very quietly passed...Although there are people working against it, it hasnt yet appeared on the news or in the press (hunting with dogs at least) and by the time most people realise, it will be too little too late. Tdavepat is correct, results of studies show that the work done by coursing clubs actually increases Hare numbers...But the LACS dont mention that, they would rather make a Hare suffer in a coursing pe
