  1. Hares have been scarce in my neck of the woods for a good few years but are starting to make a good come back. We went out for a walk about some local areas today and were lucky enough to spot 2,then on the way home we saw one sitting out in a field. I watched her with the binos for about 15 minutes and saw 2 little ones quite close by feeding...Very nice to watch. But as the larger one fed I got out of the car and squeaked on my hand like you would for a fox...I only done it to get her to look up so I could get a good look, but she took off in my direction as soon as I done it, flyi
  2. I know a man who had one from a cub quite a few years ago, it was almost like a house cat...It had some sort of health problem when it got older, he took it to the vet & the vet reported him to the RSPCPA or something like that and they took it off him.
  3. Mines was a roller coaster...But probably one of the best ever!
  4. If you have to cull them as you say....Then you shouldnt be breeding them to begin, there will be plenty of ferrets advertised on here in no time without you having breed any more, wise up.
  5. To be fair on flea bay they have a brand new locator with 2 collars for £184 and a nother collar will cost £57 your choice. Tis true....I have checked....New price of £210 posted
  6. I am selling on behalf of a friend, a MK3M Locator Box and 3 MK3M Collars, Light use and in good condition. £250 posted
  7. Your tax code is your personal allowance...ie, What amount you can earn before tax, for example a Tax Code could be JL5460, Meaning your personal allowance is £5460....Its tax free up that point, then a anything over £5460 is taxable...But there are deductions, allowances and add backs that will all deduct from this as well. If your working in building for examples, as a sub contractor and getting tax deducted each week, it will be at a higher rate of usually 40%...But when your accountant tallys up your personal allowance, then expenses such as work wear, tools, telephone, use of office e
  8. I did read somewhere that nothing makes any difference to a dogs feet...They will be the same at ten years old as when it was a pup regardless of what you do with it, But I dont know if its correct or not.
  9. It boils down to whatever suits your own preference really...
  10. Total rubbish the bloody poles keep falling out and the workmanship is like it was done by a 1st year apprentice. FT can you put pictures up showing how they fall out whilst in use? gravity keeps them in place due to them being held below the net basket FF-when putting it down mine are tied in to stop them falling out, this being a standard part of Mastehunters system surely not something I've added Y.I.S Leeview Thats why I dont use it, as well as being less than perfect while running out, It has to be tied as you said...I just dont see the point in paying £60 for a basket where
  11. Total rubbish the bloody poles keep falling out and the workmanship is like it was done by a 1st year apprentice. FT I did find the poles fell out, and not only that but the price.............
  12. Thats the problem i found with that basket...It did run out well for me, but I found it easy to knock the poles everywhere when setting it down over a fence etc
  13. Ive had a few different ones, some bought and some made...But the best one I have had yet is one from ebay for £20, It just fits. I bought another as a spare.
  14. In my opinion, ferreters dont sell live rabbits...But live rabbit sellers will use ferrets to get the rabbits they need to sell - There not ferreters...there a nuisance. They clean out each and every area they find, ferret all year round and leave nothing for nobody & never have permission... But - When they get £7 / £8 for a live rabbit...I can, to a point see why they do it, I know of people that have made close to £1000 in a good week from live rabbits...But It is the greyhound trainers keeping them in business, I get asked time and time again for live rabbits...But I belie
  15. I think Hunter was referring to taping the mesh on each pole....Like the way the end poles are taped?

  18. February...Who wants to hunt pregnant animals? Not my thing...And its usually too warm for the dog anyway.
  19. Not all dogs are lucky to reach retirement...A lot of the best are gone long before there time, It is an unfortunate reality for working dogs that the best are often killed doing what they love....However, I do believe that any that do decide they have had enough and decide to retire should be granted a little time for themselves to do as they please, until that day comes when they go, or through quality of life, must go.
  20. I always look forward to the Magwitch posts!! Thanks for sharing
  21. I have used different ways of carrying Long Nets and in my opinion, the basket is hard to beat where a quick set is concerned for ferreting. Unless you actually want to use a traditional net, I would at least try a basket and you may well surprise yourself. I have always found them light and easy to manage. To use a Traditional net and carry it in a bucket...In a game bag along with poles would seem to me to be a quickset basket in a roundabout way anyway....Why buy a bag, and push a bucket into it and risk it falling out, snagging and being a nuisance, when a basket is just is light... I
  22. A very good dog person told me the dog will let you you know there ready to retire....
