  9. You shouldnt be having so much trouble with hole hopping rabbits...When I am laying out a Long Net, I break the set up with the net, rather than wrapping it round, start maybe in the middle, work straight out to your next pole, go left to the next, then right etc, its easy to cover most of the warren this way, then break up any large section with a stop net. Another thing I have started doing and which "sometimes" works well, Is if I have 2 warrens not too far apart on god flat ground, I will simply put the long net in a straight line between them both, and then another where I think the

  13. I was making mince pies tonight and had a load of Short crust pastry left over, and a load of rabbits hanging in the shed. I skinned the rabbits, jointed and poached with onion, garlic and bouqet garnet, for 2 hours or so, until the meat fell off the bone easily. I let the meat cool, stripped it all from the bones and put it in the blender with chorizo, red onion, garlic, seasoning and a little chicken stock. I lined the mince pie baking tray with 24 short crust bases, filled with the rabbit mixture and put on the lids, I put them in the oven at 200 until they looked ready.
  14. I made this tonight, Very good, I had no worcester, so I used Balsamic vinegar and red wine instead of white, also, I added a good squeeze of tomate puree, very goodon some rabbit pies I made.
  15. I bought the Seeland Lingfield trousers, But they didnt last well, the stitching in the leg pockets started to come out and I couldnt keep anything in the pockets, then after I got a small tear in them in the manly area, the small tear went the hole way down to near the knee. Anyway, I do like the trousers, they were comfortable and very waterproof, I know theres a lot of Seeland types, Would anyone recommend anything a bit more hard wearing? I have heard the Beater range is quite good
  16. Tdavepat has an example of a dog, that if any other person had it, it would most likely have been sold 15 times by now...The Black Pocket Rocket! It is nothing other than time, patience skill and a complete refusal to give up on him, that the dog has turned as he has...And from what I have seen, It is only in the past few months this has happened, a few months that wouldnt have came for anyone else as the dog would have been sold on. But Dave stuck with him and it has paid off ten fold. From a head strong, "Do as I please" to a thoroughly obedient, patient and clever rabbiting dog, I
  17. Myself and Tdavepat dug to his ferret this year which had stopped up a rabbit similiar to yours, maybe a bit lighter in colour, another friend of mine collects odd coloured skins and cures them, I gave it to him, and its now on the arm of his sofa!! Him and some of the older guys wont kill black rabbits, and say its bad luck. I recently caught a black one, he was tiny, with white guard hairs...I let him go....Ive had enough bad luck!
