  1. Whatever way he was bred, he was a good'un and it is a great book as well.
  2. Tango, I wont make it but I hope it goes well for you - No doubt you will be decked out in your Mankini and sunglasses operating the lure...I wore mine lamping tonight, very lightweight, but I do need to be careful getting over fences Good luck and enjoy the day
  3. Ive ferreted a good few unusual places, the best was a big pile of tyres that held a lot of rabbits, I wrapped the long net round it And the rabbits run round inside until we moved almost the entire pile outside the net! I have ferreted inside a commercial greenhouse and the owner took three panes of glass out shooting at bolters! A few other places were interesting, under mobile homes, And on a tarmac road where the rabbits actually dug through, we couldnt peg the nets so just threw them over and the dogs done the rest!
  4. A game dealer fellow contacted me last year looking for rabbits, he wouldnt travel for anything less than 500 at 25p each...Skinned and gutted...
  5. The old ferret does seem to pull the short straw...Its a shame, because for such a small animal, they really can fill a game bag! I like to treat mine well, some good grub, nice dry straw and a big old run. Too often I have seen them kept in stinking damp cages, fed on crap when it suits Work them hard, treat them like heroes....Maybe doesnt just apply to dogs
  6. The hoop probably isnt big enough and the net will slide back over it Go to a blacksmith or engineering place and they will knock you up a set cheaply - Make the ring big enough to grip in your fist...It works for me anyway
  7. I have an old bitch and find as Bird said, a good rub down definitely helps her the next morning
  8. Its not all Teckels...Just a few chapters www.skycatpublications.com
  9. I am very interested in the Teckel...They seem a good dog, and a few friends have been having great sport with them over the last few years. I know John of Darswed Teckels and his blood seems to be doing the job, a lot of people are happy with his breeding which originates in Denmark where they are worked at everything. John tells me the Danish pups are familiarised with fox at an early age - He has done some writing recently on his dogs and breeding in a new book which makes for interesting reading. I do hope to have a Teckel here at some stage in the future....
  10. I do like the 410 myself, although for clay shooting I couldnt say, as I dont shoot clays... They are a good gun & I have shot a good variety of stuff with my own - There not just for rats as people like to tell you
  11. Very good photos The lamb rings are a good job - People get a bit emotional about grommets....
  12. Its a great idea anyway, and a great offer from Albert, I hope it works out
  13. Are you allowed Lurchers, terriers or ferrets on the bus?
  14. My antique is getting a little too old now for the BIGGIES...So we tend to stick to the smaller stuff and enjoy the craic...
  15. What a shame 330 - But at least she had a good life, you worked her hard and kept her well
  16. Nothing like you and your old friend out alone....The wind and the beam
  17. I think the best DVD's have long gone...They were made, when DVD's didnt even exist, and it was the days of HUGE cameras and VHS. Those WERE genuine films made by genuine guys, with genuine dogs...For the sheer enjoyment of what they done.
