    I do like the congers...The very best of them I have caught on - 100lb line through to a wire trace with a sufficient lead above this to hold the bottom. A 10/0 hook with a mackerel flapper on it always seems to work well. I believe the rumours of congers not taking frozen bait are nonsense...A monster close to 50lb took my old frozen fillets! I have also found the biggest and baddest congers are usually right below your feet

    2 years ago almost to the day...Myself and two good friends had a total of 74 catches of thornback ray and turbot in about 3 hours...It got to be a nuisance after a while! Baiting one rod while the other bounced, reeling in, baiting, the other rod going again! A good night though

    Just this year, myself and another lad went Rook shooting on the traditional date. We managed a few and I attempted the old victorian recipe...It worked, and It didnt taste half bad All the birds we shot were young'uns, Branchers I believe the oldies called them. The thought of cooking and chewing on a big old tough Rook didnt sit well with my stomach. So if you get a chance at a few young birds, give them a go...And have some rook pie after

    this is the same dog today at 9 years old Its always good to see someone keep an old Veteran... Here is mine...I doubt I'll ever have another like her, almost ten years old. Done a bit of everything, and never ever let me down. She's showing no signs of slowing down, and is as game as a pebble for her age. Riddled with arthritis and as grumpy as fook with the others though
