Just this year, myself and another lad went Rook shooting on the traditional date. We managed a few and I attempted the old victorian recipe...It worked, and It didnt taste half bad
All the birds we shot were young'uns, Branchers I believe the oldies called them. The thought of cooking and chewing on a big old tough Rook didnt sit well with my stomach.
So if you get a chance at a few young birds, give them a go...And have some rook pie after
