  1. daft question, but if you want a lurcher why are you getting a staffie????
  2. There is a chance he was lying and that might have been back in the day.
  3. well done you, I would say you are an example to us all.
  4. WHAT A I would be tempted to name and shame on here but might be reprocussion.s get the dog to a vet, supply them with Name and address of that little prick and they should follow it up. Some people shouldn't be allowed anything more than a f**king jar of soil to look after. I hope he gets whats undoubtably due to him. You have done a good thing getting him back, it must have been horrid seeing the dog like that. I can't believe what people are capable of. Hope he makes a full recovery.
  5. Well reading that I'm a shoe in for the prize:
  6. That is a smart looking prize. Looking forward to the reports of the competition, Good luck to all those who have entered.
  7. This may sound like a daft question but what is a tourmentor? Do you teach rabbits in the nature of travel? Plenty of stuff on Norfolks, just search it or visit Jeff B's site. It will come up in most of the threads.
  8. Love him or hate him, he got more people into lurchers than anyone else did and his books were a good read if nothing else.
  9. Mark, f$$k em all, I may not agree with everything you say but at least you ARE out there doing it, hats off to you. Good on you.
  10. Sounds like a cracking idea in theory, it also sounds vaguely familiar though. I wish you all the best with it - would be nice if someone could get something like this up and running. Unfortunately unless all other dogs are semi-blind or three-legged I wont stand a chance with my cur. GOOD LUCk
  11. The Hancocks, breed a lot of dogs and if you go round there it ain't the prettiest place. They get all sorts buying their dogs and as a result the dogs turn out to be all sorts from useless to awesome. I've had a a 3/4 bred off him ages ago and it was a decent dog. I've seen one of his working earlier this year that was brilliant. On the upside you can be pretty sure how his dogs will be in terms of shape and size when they are grown. They might not have the best start in life compared to a litter reared with a family BUT if you get one and put the EFFORT in then you will get
  12. cheers a couple of young ones have took me up there new to the game and i will help em bring there dogs on on the lamp also a couple of locals as well, the people i thought would said nothing but that was expected, all mouth, cheers mark Good on you Mark, hope goes well - look forward to the reports.
  13. Some one is going to bag themselves a nice bit of kit there.
  14. before you go out with the lamp the dogs recall needs to be spot on. Take dog out in area where no game land get him used to going off with lamp on and then coming back as soon as lamp is turned off. Don't worry if he don't get it first time, it is a whole different world out there when the suns gone down. good luck.
  15. that is fecking awful, am gutted for you there. really hope things pick up for you. All the best
  16. When the dog comes back to you heap praise on him, don't try to take the dummy just pat him and stroke him, fuss over him then after awhile take the dummy off him. If hhe turns his head away from your hand he ain't ready to give it up. Time will come when he'll do it instantly. Stick at it and you'll have a cracker.
  17. If anyone tells you they have a great ferreting dog for sale they are probably lying. Great ferreting dogs take a long time to become great. If you want a great ferreting dog then you need to get a puppy and spend three seasons working over ferrets I would say. Only my biased opinion but dogs that excel at ferreting are rare and their owners treasure them.
  18. How old is he? Breed etc. Sounds like separation anxiety. In short term a dog cage would save the house at least.
  19. Good for you Mark, glad you are staying on.
