    Nothing wrong with being dog daft, in fact I think the countryside maybe littered with serious cases of folks gone dog daft, and I'm not including the non-working crowd. The beauty of it all is that our quarry species comes in various shapes and sizes, well before the ban came along ON TOP of which this variable land of ours means that you can step out into the big sky of the fens, plains or prairies OR you might walk along stone walled meadows, down forestry rides etc etc etc etc. WHAT all of this means is that the dogs that hunt the prey and the lands come in all manner of sha

    Well said Skycat 9months old, still a puppy. Don't push or else you may spend many years with a spoilt dog. take your time, let the pup devlop, it certainly seems to have HEAPS of potential.

    Have you thought about using the blog faility on this site????? I think you might do well with it because unlike all the other bloggers there you would be putting up regular posts....     I wouldn't wnt a dog to do much before they are matured physically and mentally. 12 months is no age at all. If anything you dog will have a better working life from not being pushed hard whilst growing. Good luck to you

    Unless I had been asked to clear out hares then I WOULD NEVER Waste a hare by running it on a lamp. Single handed, DAY TIME hares is the only way to test the running mettle of your dog. This post is riddled with idiots and i'm NOT aiming that at anyone in particular. Just saying that AS PER usual anorther potential interesting thread RUINED. Personally I wish the Mods were tighter on trouble makers.

    Inan is spot on there is a lot of resources focused at stopping coursing in fens and around them. Largely because before the ban IDIOTS got bored of walking and following dog, so started driving round fields in 4x4s. Now obviously your farmer may turn a blind eye to someone walking with a dog but when folks are ruining his hard work preparing a seed bed. In fact when folks are costing him lots of money in lost crop, it is UNDERSTANDABLE that the heat should come on. So a few fecking idiots have ruined it FOR US ALL.
