  1. I'd say a 3/4 grey 1/4 collie bitch easy to train will take most things has speed to burn makes good all rounder easy to live with A half cross can be a handful and really need more work to stop them becoming bored. In the end go for something you like the look of (you have got to live with it for next decade or so) then put plenty of training into it and you will be very happy.
  2. well done fella, good to see the competition rolling forward. :clapper:
  3. Good to see you are getting out again. I still say that on a 26 holer you are going to need more then two ferrets. What part of the country are you in? im from essex mate ... yer i might get a couple of more ferrets im not that sure but the other day on about 36 holer about 6 rabbits bolted with only oner ferret down Well i'm in cambridge if you want to have a look at a few more ferrets working then let me know and I'll bring some along for a morning. Then you decide.

  5. Get that picture up and your dog sounds like a nice cross. Don't worry about the majority of peeps on here, people in glass houses and all that.
  6. He is also considering applying for temporary planning permission for a hut so a worker can stay on site and protect the sheep 24 hours a day. Ahhhhh, sneaky farmer is wanting to build another house by the backdoor of planning loopholes.............
  7. i think any more then 2 ferrets is to many thats my own opinion because when iv been out with people using more than that thay allways get lay ups ..... and touch wood i aint got 1 yer NO WORRIES each to their own, was just expressing my opinion. Dare say though if you had a few more ferrets then on those big sets you'd get more out of them, hell I'd even put money on it And the odd dig is part of a day out Sure on smaller sets limit to one or two ferrets but on bigger sets without enough ferrets in there the rabbits will just run round your ferret or ferret duo. Anyway al
  8. How many ferrets you using? big sets like those want a team of ferrets in there stop the bunnies running circles round the ferrets.
  9. I was having a look through Ben Taylor & Sons (BTAS) website the other day and just wondered if anyone on here had had any dealings with them and if so what was the feedback like? I do not doubt Ben's expertise and I am sure that all the rifles he turns out are of top notch finish and quality. They are however at the very top end of the price spectrum. Are they really worth that extra cost? I've dealt with THEOBEN and always been happy, bar a friends Rapid having issues. But BTAS are unkown to me. Just wondering if anyone on here could shed any light. Many thanks
  10. I'd figured that but wondered if a temporary block on guests posting until they found somewhere else to play
  11. I've just been reading through a few threads and I see there are posts from guests. These 'guests' obviously have issues that the medical profession hasn't been able to aide them with :tongue4:  Is it possible to stop them posting, or have we got to just wait until: a ) their medication kicks in b ) they get bored c ) they finally super glue their fingers to their..... Don't know if anyone else is finding there posts a bit.
  12. I hate dog thieves they are fecking lowest scum around. Hope you get your dogs back safely and I hope the thieves get whats coming to them. :black eye:
  13. Congratulations to Scouser and moreover to the both of you, nice to read about a great night where the sport was on top. Hope this sets the tome for rest of competition. well done Tomo for great report and sorting things out.
  14. Brand New Deerhunter Jacket This is a great jacket, brand new - still with tags, I picked it up and it doesn't really fit me, forgot about it and now bit late to return it. Basically it is the same as these jackets but in a medium. Sensible offer and I'll post it to you. You can pay through Paypal even
  15. stopped my membership many many years ago now, for exactly that sort of attitude.
  16. Kid needs a slap, RSPCA round there would have scared him. Good luck with them ferts, laughed when you wrote not holding on as long - think thats a breakthrough. They'll come round with some good care. Probably end up being your best workers.
  17. Good luck to all, hope it goes well.
  18. Do you not think the MK4 might edge it as it is a better balanced gun?
  19. just curious to gets some thoughts on this. I reckon it would be either the Daystate MK4 or the Theoben s-type? What do yous all think?
  20. Six weeks if at all possible. Key period of pups life is from 6 - 12 weeks after that well the foundations are laid.
  21. Sorry to say that there is no beardie blood in those dogs. Border collie, fell collie if you like to call them that is the most recent collie used. Ooty pup is a brother to Bear, red dog was from earlier litter.
  22. Sounds good to me, though sometimes the last 3 miles to some fecking hicks nest is the hardest as invariably the place aint near the allotted settlement rather some other hamlet that long since wasged its hands of that particular social mishap. Low range Tom tom (wide screen for your ageing eyes - well it helps mine) They get expensive and to be honest unless you are of the intelligence that would use nettles to wipe yon are then they are a waste of valuable funds.
  23. Brilliant post, great writing style you have there, hope there will be more to come.
  24. Huskies are designed to trot, their whole method of running is completely different to most dogs. They struggle like hell with the heat. They are also 'hard-wired' to do what they do. Crossing them with a greyhound would be a pretty big gamble. Huskies are also very varied so what type would you want to consider. They are very smart dogs but tend to just want to do stuff their way. Strong-willed is not the word.
