  1. Cracking looking Wheaten x what were his parents?
  2. What possible benefits are achieved from castrating or neutering an animal?
  3. Cracking pup you have there
  4. Its a very good piece of kit and the only box designed for the job,its also the only box thats guarantee stands when used for terrierwork.
  5. She looks great Mick, and thanks for today mate I really appreciate what you did.Its a pity there aren't as many genuine people in the game as this chap. All the best!
  6. You pay your money and get what you pay for, he's a very honest bloke. As has already been said if you buy a first cross the collie is from working stock and the greyhound is from racing stock what else matters. If you buy a GSD cross greyhound what work should the GSD have done??There used to be a similar set up for Bedlington crosses,Heartbreak Fell kennels I don't think they received the stick that old Hancock gets.He has produced some excellent dogs over the years,I sometimes think that they are more intelligent than the person on the other end of the lead, hence the failures. You only get out
  7. How have any of these pups turned out....? Just curious as a mate has a young unentered dog pup by Arthur.
  8. It can quite simply be summed up in three words WILL TO WIN....!
  9. I was talking about rock dogs. As an example,a few years ago in company with a keeper and local terrierman in the Dales, what i can only describe as the the East side of Everest and the terrierman saying put a dog in there just below that hawthorn, walking at least 120 yds further along another dog was entered, those two dogs had to work that between them, impossible for one terrier, nigh on impossible for two,the old lads owned better rock working fox dogs, not the full on breeze blocks now that would struggle in spots like that. Yes I know the score with working the rocks, was brought up on it.
  10. Where's that like.... The moon????? no i think nasa would have a problem with that they might send a monkey but i think a vixen and cubs is out of the question Thats exactly what he means so just do the humane thing and cull them...! Don't know why people get all sentimental the whole purpose in working terriers is to provide a service.
  11. Forgot to say that its a cracking clip of the rescue,as someone already said I'll bet his ears were ringing, lol.
  12. What a cracking clip, too right how things have changed, lol.
  13. The fella,s about then had a better working understanding of the places they entered a dog,or two, even 3 at times.Theirs was a tried and tested formula that few would undertake now,how many would even enter a terrier now in some of the places the old lads saw as commonplac Don't see how you can say they had a better understanding of the places,if you work an area regularly then you know the spots as well as any.If anyone were to put two or three to ground today they would be told their dogs weren't upto the job. When I was a young lad most people used to work a few to ground it was commo
  14. Its funny how these old rescues of fell terriers are always two or three in there each time.Like the old song of Butcher & Badger etc.Everyone goes on about the good old lines and how they were better than whats about these days they were nearly always doubled up when put to ground.
  15. New Bellman spot on and its the only one designed for the job.Try sending your Barryvox back and see if they honour the guarantee if they know you've been using it for terrierwork! I have had excellent customer service from B & F.Plus he can fix it here in the UK without the need to ship abroad, all things worth considering.
  16. Lol sounds like a good idea,I bet that works better than any bought gaiter..!
  17. You can jab your own dogs and other peoples but if you accept money for it then its illegal. If thats the case then why did Eddie Chapman get fined for innoculating his own pups??
  18. At the end of the day I think if your not a qualified vet then you aren't qualified to treat them.I'm sure Eddie Chapman once got fined for jabbing his terriers because he isn't qualified. We all know that some vets are crap but if they have the papers then theyre qualified. Its another one of those stupid laws like tail docking. How long have Vet Colleges been in existence? What did you do before it? Its only a jab under the skin. I totally agree with you as I said one of those stupid laws that this country seems to keep coming up with.!
