  1. Had this one back in October out protecting gamebirds with hounds. It was weighed on two seperate sets of scales and weighed in at 26lb on both.
  2. Ours was weighed on two sets of scales and both said 26 lb.The pic from the Sun is on a ladder and the Fox is a lot closer to the camera than the bloke,an old fishermans trick mate!
  3. We had this one whilst out with hounds proteceting gamebirds at the end of October. It weighed in at 26lb.
  4. Nice Fox lads did you weigh it????????????
  5. All dogs can be broken, they are flesh and bone.In my opinion you shouldn't work any dog sore. Its a recipe for disaster. The dog needs to be allowed to heal properly then he needs to be worked regularly as long as he has healed. With regular work he will eventually find his level and start to work his Fox with respect.
  6. Remember once years ago just banging down with my heel above the bumping and breaking through.Could feel the action right under my boots. And many moons ago digging to the dog with the shoulderblade of a cow at about two foot. When caught out for a walk not expecting any action.
  7. good point mate but every little % matters even if it means ye get one more run on the night could be the diffrence in nailing a fox or a dog that is unable to run it every little helps and breeding from the best matters , as i said at the start of the topic im no expert... Surely the other part of the cross i.e.collie,bull whatever your choice will add the stamina/hybrid vigour etc, the endurance the the mix.
  8. I would prefer a more durable coursing greyhound out of choice,(a dog that actually does the job in the field). But does it really matter you are only putting the greyhound into the mix to add speed.
  9. Top gear been abusing it for a few years now can't fault it.The only problem being the lack of outlets selling it in the UK.When buying direct from Swazi you get stung on the import duty through customs. So be aware when they return your top!The best gear that I have ever worn.
  10. I think it was a good litter as all the ones that I know of are doing well.I don't like to say it..........but I told you so mate, lol. Like i said above bud " I WAS WRONG " But that said i dont have any regrets, as my goal for the litter has been achived, dogs that are able to course, catch, & dispatch a variety of quarry and the lad that now has my pup has a "Very Well Trained" dog thats also very able. I`ve also met some decent dogmen {yourself included} and i have if needed future bloodstock to breed back to if thats what i decide to do... Yis Mars... You have most c

  17. Good post Rob well spotted mate and a big congratulations on learning to read. Are you the only one in the village or are there more.......??
  18. it would be a costly win May be but once your dog has been shot its too late.
  19. If the stalking is rented out i.e. paid for and you are on private land then he is perfectly within his rights to shoot dogs if they are chasing his deer. Even if the deer are not farmed, they are on his land and you don't have permission.Like someone said once he has pulled the trigger you aren't getting your dog back so he has won.
  20. I tried but it was sent to a number 30 and there isn't one in my road, lol.
  21. Danny forget the last bit about the phone number. I found it and just spoke to a very nice young lady called Sue.The reason I didn't recieve it was because the number on my address was wrong.......Ah well at least its all sorted for next year, see you there. Thanks!

  24. Its always good to see proper russells doing it.In my area a certain person has for the last few decades been flooding the market with white lakeys. It always pisses me off when people call their white lakeys russells and sell them as russells.Keep them seperate.Because they do well at shows people seem to use them on their russells to tidy them up but in my opinion they are ruining them as their working styles are totally different.
