  2. Sorry to have missed this one but not ignored, wondered what bill was on about my sincere apologies, mark. Vandal, was he a Plummer with 28% vampire blood a halfbred jrt.? Plummer.. he and others then for PR purposes was named plummer terriers as were so many but they were not true breeding enough to be called a breed...others bred more true as well...but then when you consider vandals pedigree, how could they have been when the fathers sire was crossbred and the rest of the pedigree mongrelized. Offspirng from vandal sometimes resembled other breeds a sign of homozygosity . AS DID MANY

  4. Glenn if you read back through you will see that I have asked two questions and both seem to have been ignored...? One was are you saying that Vandal wasn't a Plummer? And the other was how many foxes have YOU taken in the last season with YOUR terriers? Thanks
  5. Glad to see there are a few still being worked.Lets hope they make a good standard as we all know everyone has different perceptions of work. There are those that dig maybe one or two a season and those that work maybe a hundred or more.A vast difference as many dogs look good for a few occassional digs but throw the towel in when the workload gets a tad heavier. Good luck with them lads.Just out of interest how many have you had with your terriers this past season Glenn?
  6. What a load of childish nonsense,to each their own I suppose.Glenn are there many owners that are regularly using their Plummers for fox control (earthwork) these days. I do know of several that are gone now that were decendants of Bills stock that were as good as any earthdog. Are you saying that Vandal wasn't a Plummer?I'm not sure that I understand what you meant in one of your recent posts.
  7. Nice one thanks for that Si,was just asking as my local gundealer doesn't stock much variety. They have Air Arms Field,RWS,Bisleys and one or two others, not much choice.
  8. Hi Moorman. Using JSB Diablo Exacts 15.9gr .22 in mine at the moment. They are giving me an Avg Muz Vol of 571.40 fps producing 11.53 ftlbs. Group very well, qaulity pellet, worth the money. Also tried Accupell 14.4gr gave an Avg Muz Vol of 602.4 fps producing 11.61 ftlbs. Nice pellet, but I found them too hard, not as malable as the JSB's. What are you using at the moment in your's? ATB. Bill. Cheers lads not had mine long,so been using up a tin of Crossman Accupells seem very good but my local gundealer doesn't stock them anymore. Can't unde
  9. Hi all was just interested to hear what pellets your HW100 in .22 was performing at its best with....? Cheers
  10. Lol I know you did Goldfinch so you and I both know how good it was. It's just a shame that it has been diluted and lost
  11. Dear oh dear is it any wonder why people ridicule Plummers and their owners. All this talk of pedigrees and very little mention of what they do in the ground. There are no doubt still some decent working ones around but I think more that don't than do.Bill (Stormyboy)had some exceptional stuff in his kennel and I mean dogs that would hold their own in the ground against any other terrier. Tiny weldone at last someone striving to produce better dogs in the ground.Weldone that man,its a pity that more Plummer breeders don't pay more attention to someone who is breeding to better their dogs for
  12. Hi have you tryed one as mine was crap yes you can pump up the power within reason but couldnt get on with it , it shot fine 1/2 incn at 30 yards ,could be me , so try before you buy, good luck. Have used Weirauch gasram and thought it pretty good but too heavy.Although they use Theoben gasram HE it isn't the same gun.A lot heavier and not so nice to handle.1/2 incn at 30 yards can'y be that bad. Some guns you get on with and some you don't. Thanks anyway lads looks like I'm sorted now. Cheers for your help.
  13. Thanks for the replies must be .22 Cheers

  16. your better with a small lurcher mate. straight whippets are good little dogs but if your gonna give it plenty of all round work your better to get a terrier cross whippet Ozzy wheaten /whippet a first cross not as fast as the three quarter but handy allround rabbiting dog and never a sick day in his life Totally agree with Cleanspade,Pure Whippets weak feet, thin skin, less stamina and nowhere near as robust as terrier x.

  20. Would just like to say a big thank you to a very decent bloke...The boxes are a true masterpiece and I haven't seen better.Anyone considering buying from dog gone, all I can say is he is a true professional and you definitely won't be dissappointed.A top bloke. Cheers!
  21. Just got your message and tried to ring you mate, what a work of art. They look too good to put dirty old terriers in lol. Can't wait to see them in the flesh.A credit to you, weldone.
  22. Not being funny pal but what you have is probably 1 in 1000, and i still wouldnt breed off them because the pups almost certainly wont work. KC terriers have been bred for looks for too long and have lost the ability to do proper earthwork in all but a few cases. And your second comment any dog thats trained right will go down a hole...is true, but its what the dog meets down the hole that splits the difference. Any numpty can run an empty earth, i doubt it if your dogs will stick it in the long run, but i really hope they do. And well done for trying and giving it a go FTB Just because
