  1. great gun mate and i'm sure you will enjoy. sorry to hear about your wife mate, hope she recovers soon.
  2. we need a budget. weirhauch make very good springers as well as air arms. bsa come are a little lower priced but in my opinion not as accurate or as smooth as weirhauchs
  3. good shooting phantom! your posts are very intresting but i can't help but feel a little queasy. what is this american way of skinning a rabbit then?
  4. what height bipod are you getting? the one in my sig is very cool because i can get very stable shots from kneeling position without having to lie in the mud.
  5. great shooting phantom but please before you put up one of your disecting posts please put 'graphic post' in the subtitle
  6. i think its very important. if you are not wearing cammo your human shape is sillhoueted against the naturaul broken up shapes. if you your human shape is broken up thenits harder for quarry to distinguish you as a threat. decoyers have been proven that pigeons react to the pink of a humans face and if your face is covered you will get bigger bags. one thing that many people do is get the highest quality camo jacket and trousers then forget about there face and hands. these 2 patches of pink really show up and can be fixed easily by a pair of gloves and a face veil. as preivously mentioned, mo
  7. great tips si. i often have trouble juding wind and have missed a few shots where i on a windless day i would have the quarry down. si, does wind effect more on a .22 or .177 cal pellet?
  8. hi mate. i find the best and easiest tactic for shooting squizzers is to stalk round a wood stopping every few steps to look around. if a squirrels is in a tree and spots you they usually freeze for a few seconds. this is your best chance of shooting one. or you can sit down at the base of a tree or behind a log or something in an area where squirrels are seen often. only go for headshots as squirrels are tough and body shots will just wound them. if you do the 'sit and wait' tactic wear some kind of face cover like a scrim scarf or headnet as your face will stand out and give you away. edit:
  9. They have not bought the gun for me it was a loan i have to pay it back,my mum set up a standing order from my account to hers so i think she wants it back asap hard luck mate!
  10. good luck mate! the way i do it is i open the picture in picture manager and then click on edit then click on reduce or resize or whatever it is then click on webpage and the pic will be smaller then you save the pic the you open up your post tehn look at the bottom and click browse then find your shrunk pic and it should be ok
  11. great gun! my mum and dad would never fork out £700 odd quid for me! this will pribabaly be my next gun except in Sporter stock.
  12. skip to 5:15 for the important bit. after that he breasts a feral.
  13. nice shooting tony! what MM is your torch bulb? if its small enough then you can use old red quality street wrappers, or amber if you use the toffy penny
  14. http://www.jsramsbottom.com/products/riflescopes-jsr-optics/jsr2732-jsr-2-7x32-red--green-illuminated-mil-dot-riflescope.html what about this? low enough mag and the illuminated reticle will help when shooting in dark coreners or low light condiotions around famrs. very cheap too.
  15. good vids! one word of advise as i heard you mentioned baiting pigens this is legal with magpies and crows but illegal with pigeons!
  16. 50 metre give or take a metre squirrel. perfect headshot. it fell straight out the tree. it was just sitting there in 'squirrel nutkin' position with its tail up its back. no wind so i took the shot.
  17. bit of a waste of good trout thogu isent it? :
  18. its not about how much power you have, its about where you put the pellet. with rabbits just behind they eye is the most humane shot. if you can get all your pellets in a 1" circle at 15m then you can shoot a rabit at 15m.
  19. John Darling says its OK to eat country ferals which have had a good diet of grain but dose not reccommend eating pigeons which have been shot near cities. i think i might eat one if it was from a grain barn.
  20. once i get a lurcher i'll probably shoot a lot more but until then my mum is protecting the pair of collored doves in our garden. they are the same pair and have been here for a few years at least. they never touch our veg patch or fruit and nut trees (unlike the dastardly pigeons and squirrels ) so i leave them be but they might be on the menu soon.
  21. basically, no. you can only shoot a collored dove (or any legal quarry bird for that matter) for one of the following reasons: 1.to protect crops 2.to protect public health and saftey. 3.to protect wildlife. try putting spikes or boards with nails in them on your chimney if your that pee'd off.
  22. intresting, you can sometimes tell if the rabbits male because they will be fighting or chasin g other males but you don't always see this.
  23. excellent shooting tony! intresting black and white photo. your DPM ponch could have been yellow, pink, orange and black but as long as it breaks up the shape its fine!
