  1. hi all, i have discovered some ivy covered trees on the border of y permission. i had seen 4-5 pigeons feeding on them when i came down but i was too hasty and scared them off whilst stalking them. i saw exactly where they flew, into some trees about 300 yrds from the border of my permission. i could not do a thing so i set up overlooking the ivy covered trees with a camo hide net over me to break up my shape. half an hour later a pigeon looked as if it was going to fly into the trees directly in front of me but decided to turn to left and go into some trees to the left of me about 20yrds away
  2. great shooting davy! the video say 'video is private' again.
  3. wow 60 metre shot! my max is 45 yrds....
  4. you should see his kit video! pocket computer with 'chairgun' on it, electronic wind speed and tempreture measurer and laser range finder. he says he takes thia all in the field with him.
  5. its head was moving around a lot and i had to watch him for a while to work out where its head went after popping up from the ivy berries.
  6. which would you say is the best book for lurcher training and choosing a breed out of 'the new complete lurcher' and 'the working lurcher'
  7. thankss. i think its my longest shot on live uarry ever. my range is just increasing and increasing as time go's by.
  8. hi all, had this woody yesterday morning from prone. my dad said he had seen some flapping at the end of the garden in some ivy covered trees (pigeons love ivy berries, the rees are 60 yards from the house) i loaded the s400 and got my rifle rest and set out on a long stalk up one side of the garden. i saw a branch moving vigourosly which indicated a pigeon feeding. i set down in prone (my garden is on a gentle upward slope) and waited. every now and then i saw a flash of wings or a tail feather popping up. i then saw its head poking out from some branches but still i had to wait as it was fe
  9. hi all, my s400 is great for rabbits and pigeons at longer ranges but i need a light fast manouverable gun for close range work on close rats, ferals and woodies. i was thinking of an air arms TDR. it will be a long time before i save up enough money for a tdr but i just wanted to know if anyone has used them and what your views are on them. also, are there any other guns similar to the tdr which are also good? the Take Down Rifle bit is not that important, i just want a small, light and manovuerable gun. before anyone says it, i have tried ultras and i don't like the cocking very much. tha
  10. itnow says 70 yard shot on the description on the side, very muchh different from 100 yrd, 30 yrds is a lot in terms of pellet trajectory. i remeber seeing a video a while back called 'flying bird with air rifle' and it showed an airgunner shooting at a flying woody and a big puff of feathers and it going down. i suspicously did not look like an air gun shot. i later found out there was someone behind the camera with a shotty. so don't take everything you see on yourtube for granted.
  11. i've shot them on a fishery before. talk to the gamekeeper/fishery owner aout where they are seen most often. then its just a matter of sitting and waiting. hard to take a shot though as they are always moving.
  12. theres a video on youtube on how to fit a bipod to air arms s400. it will show you all the steps that davy just told you except in video. here ya go:
  13. thanks guys! can the people who have bought tascos from ebay send me the link as i don't want to get off the some dodgy guy in china who may not give me what i'm paying for.
  14. the hand pump will be hard. you'll be puffed out by the time you fill the bottle.
  15. yeah, thats the only problem, but you can't have a big mag scoepwithout it being heavy. in an ideal world, i would have a carbine rifle with a low mag scope for short range ratting and others, and a rifle with a high mag scope for rabbit sniping and pigeon shooting. thanks for the help!
  16. the top, third and last videos say 'video is private. nice shots on the other videos though. good shooting!
  17. Read more! underneath it says: "while in glasgow the animals are being illegaly poached with packs of dogs or air rifles" they have changed the shotgun mistake but the air rifle one is even worse!
  18. excellent! its much harder when your young. nobody takes you seriously and just thinks your going to go around blasting anything that moves. i have got one permission though.
  19. hi all, who's going to the kelmarsh country fair and what are you gunna bedoing there? im going to compete in the airgun junior championships. ATB, Aaron.
  20. it works much better than the homemade rest i was using before. its so stable you could zero from it by watching the crosshairs move as you adjust the turrets.
