I was in the middle of the African Bush tracking Rhino when we heard via the radio, i was travelling with 3 american guys at the time and 1 of them lost a friend who worked in the Tower . . . . . i'll never forget the anguish of that day, it took us 2 days to get anywhere where we could find out the true magnitude of the story, and what a shock when we did. 11 Gcse's, 4 A Levels, and a degree in photography . . . . .. . which is all well and good, but life experience counts for a lot. I've been lucky enough to travel a fair amount and have dealt with a variety of situations and scenarios that have educated me far more than a paper qualification.

The lab i rescued has had a couple this summer . . . they are disgusting! I put him straight on piriton tablets, shave the fur off and scrubbed it twice a day with a diluted hibi scrub solution . . .. . . and also got some cream from my vet which is fantastic, its a steroid cream, but works. I was told soaking it in cold black tea also works, i didn't try this but heard excellent stuff about it. They spread rapidly and are immensley painful for dogs. As has been suggested above a raw diet may also prevent them.

Is it only me thinking its weird that she was stolen right after winning the show? Could there be a connection with anyone there?

A friend of mine trains protection dogs and scent dogs for the MOD . . . he allows the dogs to interact with his children during their time with him, supervised obviously. The Malinos he has had through his kennel have never been intergrated into his family, he simply believes its too much risk. The last Mali he trained as a sniper dog to work in Iraq, very powerful dog and immense at its job, but IMO has no place away from a working kennel.

When i'm silly busy with work, i use a dog walker . . . but only because she'll let them off lead, gets that they can and will course and kill stuff and is totally dog savvy. There isn't many people i'd trust to walk my dogs. She's a gem and worth every penny when i'm busy.
