  1. But in fairness . . . . . . How many times do you see the photos of marked up dogs on fb and here with jumped up little pricks boasting about the "gameness ' of their "ripped" bull cross ............. if you give these organisations fuel then they will not need asking twice to stoke their fires. Its awful that the decent dog men and women among us get branded into that category but such is life, as a community the hunting world digs its own grave time and time again. Joe public have not got a clue about the working side of dogs, the differing breeds or their differing jobs, these organisati

  4. I doubt anyone that orders will be disapointed . . . . and if you are, stick it on ebay and triple your money. Its something very special this book.
  5. I've had a serious RTC . . . horrible experience and left me really questioning my own morality. Took me a good few weeks to get over it. We were all young and stupid once, fingers crossed the lad pulls through.
  6. No not really, he was a little spooked when i walked him along behind the line of guns, but by the end of the day he was not fazed at all. I had another day to photograph last Friday and took him with me, he was on a peg for every drive and never moved an inch ( on lead, just to be safe for the first time) . . . retrieved a few birds on each drive and was a little star. He has also in the 2 days worked out that how to mark the birds, he was watching intensley exactly where the birds fell, and every time he brought one back, he flew off again to get the next, all at 100 mph! lol There was a
  7. Just so folk can see what a cracking pup it is yeah?!?! ..................... Sean was less than impressed when i told him i didn't need his help with that shoot!
  8. "that last one" with the nice back end . . . . . was totally naked with a spaniel puppy over her dignity in the woods with me a few weeks ago . . . "special" photos for her boyfriend! Good shots babe.
  9. This product is in my opinion by far the best on the market, i've seen arthritic dogs transform on this stuff, my 8 year old bitch who has had a stupidly active life, competing at high impact sports, has been ache and stiff ness free since being on this. http://www.petvetcare.co.uk/acatalog/Synoquin_Range.html
  10. The following press release has been put out by the HSA . . . . . . Hound killed on busy road during illegal fox hunt Tuesday, 25 October 2011 19:17 Hunt Saboteurs Association Press Release 25th October 2011 A hound from the Cotswold Vale Farmers Hunt was killed by a lorry, on the A38, South of Tewkesbury, today during an illegal fox hunt. Members of the Hunt Saboteurs Association who were present said the hunts pack of hounds were illegally chasing a fox when one of them ran straight into the road and was killed outright by a lorry that had no opportunity to stop. It was only the p

  12. I keep 1 entire dog, with a spayed bitch and 2 neutered dogs, they regulary run and kennel with 3 entire bitches . . . . . never have a problem. If the whippet hassles the bitches too much, they should tell him, and leave them to it. A puppy even more so, let it learn its place in the pack, aslong as the bitches aren't overly aggressive, i can't see it being a problem.
  13. Quick update . . . Moss has been struck by a serious case of "feather fever" since his debut on a shoot day ........... even the tiniest down feather spotted out on a walk is retrieved! He is constantly watching the sky and following birds in the air, its hysterical! He's obviously decided that feathered objects are now his life Couple more days picking up booked in for the coming weeks, the dogs obsessed.
  14. What did you call these 2 in the end? Whenever i see photos of them, they remind me so much of a pharaoh hound!
  15. Thanks Penny......... It was one of those moments that being female in a male dominated world, you will understand! He was superb and we've been invited back whenever we like. LOVE MY DOG!!
  16. The nasty pigeon moment . . seconds before he spat it out and went off after a pheasant!
  17. House coal should never be used, it burns too dirty and clogs them up. Smokeless fuels should be used , preferably ones with very little petroleum content . . . . . . to avoid the build up of sulphur deposits, which corrodes stoves flue's and liners. Good dry seasoned wood is by far the best option for stoves, and cheapest if you use your stove correctly.
  18. So i'm just in from photographing the shoot day . . . . . Moss came along, drive one he was in the back of the landy, tied up, door open .......... He looked and listened and remained calm. Drive two, he was walking behind guns with me, to perfect heel and amazed at the falling birds......... whistle blows and i send him out, perfect retrieve on 2 partridges ....... Drives 3, 4, 5, 6 . . . . perfect peg dog, watching and marking then retrieving like a pro!!! A few people asked about him today and after i explained his history and lack of training and experience, they were all pretty im
  19. I agree Celtic sheepskin boots are good . . . . however after years of studies, i have concluded that the Ugg sheepskin is thicker and of a denser consistency, seems to last longer ................... But i'm not fussed as this year its all about the "R Soles" Cowboy boots.
  20. Don't worry he'll be staying on the lead, that said i'll let him have a couple of easy retrieves if the situation allows it.
  21. So nearly a year ago i took on the MENTAL, 10 month old, kennel bound, pyschopathic labrador ........ after the initial few "issues" of eating my ugg boots and chewing through a plug in, radiator flex ........ Moss settled well into the rest of the pack, decent diet and a heap of exercise and the boy started to come good. My friend the gun dog trainer took us on as new recruits and despaired of my " part time trainer" attitude, his words not mine! I will admit that i am silly busy over the summer with my business and the dogs tend to take a back seat, Moss was no exception and in all honestl
  22. Fab pictures Bradley! Todd is looking in peak condition, scary how like Dolly he is in some of those!
