Ouch! Even the House of Representatives are taking that one seriously. Jason Chaffetz's letter to the bureau is attached.

I can agree with all of that, except the regulation. Especially here in the US. If you've worked over here for any length of time you'll find the H&S is light years behind Europe. They wouldn't give a flying f**k about nesting birds! While I can accept that oil companies are not purposely f***ing us over and would rather not be involved in an environmental disaster, they're still corporations and regulation helps keep air, and water, cleaner. Allowing them to deregulate so they can prospect in national parks. and monuments, is a f***ing travesty and one that many of us country folk wi

Fair enough. Here in Utah he's trying to unravel the national monuments and open them up resource prospecting. Billions of dollars of tourist money, or millions for the already wealthy. Two outdoor conventions have already pulled out of Utah in protest taking tens of millions of revenue with them. Rescinding national monuments could remove billions from local industries. Have a look what they're trying to unravel here. Your Florida mates might be interested in this particular rollback as it concerns oil, and gas, drilling in National Refuges. Places like these surround the Florida coastlin

He's got the chances, it's whether his party will work with him, or not. He's definitely upset the establishment but that was the point, no? As I said to WILF earlier in the thread. I'm a fisherman, hunter, shooter, general child of the countryside. All I'm after is clean and water. His first 100 days unraveled that so they've already got my full attention. Next they're unraveling healthcare which will leave some of the most vulnerable people in society without basic medical coverage. Scum or not that's an issue because society has a duty to care for it's elderly. A duty of care to it's w

I can't argue with that but as I said to Nik earlier in the thread, she didn't win! She's not relevant any more! She's a has been... If she'd won she'd have her own thread! But she didn't! Trump won, but he hasn't done anything other than repeal a lot of environmental protection laws so that certain people can mine/drill for certain things with fewer consequences.

Fair comments, DS, but would you say that animals with genetic intelligence and health problems, due to inbreeding, are well reared and healthy? If someone wants a companion, service, worker, or show animal, no worries but is the lure of the £ fair enough to the cost of the breed? -
I'm going to double down and start a thread about how it wasn't like this in my day... That'll show 'em.

Tommy Robinson How Is He Viewed In Britain At The Moment

Reading this article from the Manchester Evening News, today. Social services ignored reports of abuse, and Rochdale's social services missed 181 chances to intervene. You've got widespread failings of publicly funded agencies that allowed this to continue, and the investigator in the original articles resigns from the force and says that paedophiles, identified in Operation Span, are still free to abuse as the prosecution failed to use additional evidence to convict them. You're spending billions in taxes to fund this... This level of incompetence goes all the way to the home office, th -
Esteemed gentlemen, of the panel. What are you going to do about it?

NYT reports "Mr. Trump’s disclosure does not appear to have been illegal — the president has the power to declassify almost anything. But sharing the information without the express permission of the ally who provided it was a major breach of espionage etiquette, and could jeopardize a crucial intelligence-sharing relationship."

Gnash, if you ever get those details on paper I'd love to read more about it. I was curious just how many generations it would take before someone would be culling more than keeping what's viable. -

It's a killer, isn't it! Funny thread this, I found out just how much easier it is to link to YouTube, than to do any meaningful research which may just change my level of knowledge.

Can't argue with that, Nik, but it's exactly the same on both sides. The amount of baseless right wing shit posted is about the same. We're back to echo chambers again. Fake news only seems to be a thing when it overwhelmingly conflicts with already held beliefs. I'll give Donnie his due he was even able to invent a term for it. Again. I'll judge the man on his results, not his words. He's done some damaging shit since he got in, undone some environmental protections that can put entire communities at risk. As I said earlier if we come out of this with genuine progress then it'll be a resu

Home Defense As The Founding Fathers Intended
ChrisJones replied to Wolfdog91's topic in General Talk
Absolutely, mate. It's not without it's problems. When you look at the crime figures guns definitely exacerbate the problem. On the flip side you rarely get the good stories where the good guys use them to prevent tragedies. School shootings came up, a while back on another thread. We'll never know how many times resource officers (police officers assigned to schools) have used firearms to prevent mass shootings, because they never became mass shootings. As I've said before, where I live pretty much everyone is packing. It's part of the fabric. Watching someone open carry here is worrying -
Which You Like Best For Pest Control?

Combination of both! I'd never done two identical jobs, before, and it was often a case of making the decision while up to your elbows in it! -

Totally agree, Greyman, but difference between a working breed and a show breed is that one has to look a certain way which means the gene pool is smaller to keep breeding closer related animals for aesthetics. Working breeds are for other characteristics but when you start keeping those characteristics and certain looks, you start to decrease the biodiversity in the gene pool. You end up with health problems and lower intelligence. I think it's a f****d up time when you shell out the kind of money that these people do, and then have to have a certificate with them to say that they've clea -

The Price Can Not Be Right On This Pup...ffs.. !!!!
ChrisJones replied to Saluki246's topic in General Talk
Genuine question. With the amount of inbreeding, in pedigree dogs, how likely is it that we could see the complete end of certain breeds? Could it be possible for us to selectively breed these animals out of existence based on aesthetics alone?
