  1. Lay a few blocks, catch a pike, lay a few blocks, catch a pike, and so on, LOL.
  2. its all well and good posting it here and i agree with it all ,but your preaching to the converted and maybe a anti or two may take some notice , no they wont , people need to get up to speed sites like this is not where its going on Facebook is where the terrier feds need pages and members putting people to task about the photos they are posting publicly condemning them myself and other who post here do this,Mr Cashmore pulled some one up for keeping there dogs in filthy conditions just the other day ,but it would be better coming from people from the federations, lets shame them out of the
  3. I'd say the camera man caught what was the end of a very long hunt. Brilliant footage.
  4. Foxbolter, usually the only folk I look down on here are those who bring our way of life into disrepute, but after reading your last post I'm just going to give up on you because of how juvenile you are. Is that OK with you ? Thanks
  5. If you're sad and bored could I suggest getting a terrier and bringing it out to do some hunting. You should try it, might open up a whole new world to you and you might even make a friend or two.
  6. When I bump into shooters around here they all complain about lamp shy foxes. I'd love to tell them that foxes are not born lamp shy, they're made. It's the same boys complaining that are the very ones who are talking, smoking, slamming car doors and hunting up wind that are causing the shyness. Keep at it lads. Those who lamp around here tell me that in a night you could bump into other crews of lads regularly. That much lampers should mean = no foxes. But the truth is it's the opposite. I've always said lamping foxes for the sake of just getting out of the house is a cowboys sport,
  7. I'm in that situation now after losing my bitch on sat night, don't think I'll ever replace that terrier, still hasn't sunk in properly expecting to see her every time I go to the kennels Pity that. You'll still be thinking of her for a while yet. Because all my terriers are related when they bark in the kennels they often sound like their father or mother etc. and I often went into the kitchen to shut one up and often shouted the name of a dog that might be dead a year or two. You still recognise the voice. it can be the same with the way the work or things they do. You never forget th
  8. Believe me FD I could write on the subject with a bit of authority. When I was a teenager I got bullied into putting my terrier into back up a bad Jack Russell, the result was my terrier was killed. So believe me, I don't take entering a second terrier lightly.
  9. Agree with the above posts. A good read Lutra Lutra and written with passion. Only a terrier man can understand the hole that's left in his heart when another good terrier leave this world.
  10. Seen an interview with him once and said he used to spar against youngsters. He said when you spar against trained fighters they had there routines and were predictable, spar against a novice and he's liable to do anything.
  11. Congratulations. Sorry couldn't resist. What age did they look ? That's very early. A lot of country people over here used to say cubs were never born before St Patricks day. I remember a keeper I used to dig with dug a litter at the start of March and he was telling an old terrierman. "No you didn't" said the old boy. The keeper swore he had. "I don't know what you dug but they weren't foxcubs. Either that or you're lieing" said the old boy. I would say in the next week or two we'll hear of more litters. The sheep men will be happy.
  12. OK, I'll put the record straight regarding doubling up. I don't double up terriers, simple as that, anyone who knows me knows I don't and anyone who says I do is a liar. The incident I wrote about was around 25 years ago and I'd already mentioned that after a couple of hours in a big rangy place the fox wasn't going to bolt. Paccy didn't keep hard terriers and his terrier Max, was just following the fox around and around. Paccy went away and as soon I got his back turned I put in the terrier that I had with me and shortly after we dug to a dead fox. It meant we could go on to the next ear
  13. The first pay per view fight was The Thriller in Manilla 1975......if im not wrong the first Uk pay per view was Tyson v Bruno in 96.....even though Naz was the biggest name...............love him or hate him he was a British boxing sensation. Oh yeh, he sold tickets, no doubt about it and because most ordinary Joe Soaps didn't have pay per view he also filled pubs. But the whole tour pay per view thing and Sky paying was the end of boxing for me. When Eubanks was paid as Champion to do an 8 fight tour didn't he get beaten after 2 or 3 fights. Made the rest of the tour an anti climax.
  14. Ruined boxing for me. He was one of the first pay per view tours and he naming which round he'd knock out his opponent etc. and sure enough he usually did. He fought in Dublin before he made it big and came out doing his dance to the music, grabbed the top rope and somersaulted into the ring, landed on his arse, stood up and went back into his changing room and started again. Boxing should be about the boxing.
  15. It's true, he asked her did she like black cock, and kept a straight face. Mind you, he has no sense of humour so there's a good chance he didn't realise what he said.
  16. A good excuse to have a dram, very nice.
  17. This man did Rob, big chunky ol' fashioned lakeys. Black N Tans or Blue in colour.
  18. It looks like it's been crossed with everything bar a bus. There's a breeder in France will give you thousands for it.
  19. One of the best men I ever seen digging didn't care if he was alone or in a group it was big deep places either way. And even if he had company he still did nearly all the digging. A little bag on his back contained a torch,a saw, a finder and water for the terrier. In one hand he had a mattock and a shovel in the other hand was a terrier on a chain. That was it and lets face it, a mattock is no good after 4 or 5 foot so it was shovel only after that. I seen this man digging 9 and 10 foot to his Lakelands and he do most of the digging. Single handed digging doesn't have to be 3 footers only
  20. How was everyones shooting season ? I can't curse myself now by saying I was never happier with my aim as I was this season. Had a L + R on Mallard and a L + R on Wigeon. Missed very few Pheasant and when the Woodcock started going my way I missed few of them too. Duck were disappointing as there was so much water this Winter they were well spread out and hard to find. Rabbits were over all scarce and I only fired at a couple of Snipe, not putting either in the bag. My old springer bitch "Tuppence" was as good as ever and the younger dogs she worked along side did not out do her in any w
  21. When bream fishing I often cursed the greedy little feckers but when the fishing's slow a few greedy Perch often saved the day. Love them and can't wait for the day I catch a 3 pounder, I know I will.
  22. I must be a miserable fecker then, LOL. BUT, sometimes you might find yourself with an hour or two to spare and it is nice to try a hole or two you'd nearly forgotten about.
  23. Well done on a good video. I hope the politicians took note.
