  1. Fireman, you of all people should know that you have to take photos at the end off the dig showing both terrier and quarry and I can't believe you used a firearm to finish it. What were you thinking ? Well done the old one ,has she a name?, and at 9 they're usually just taking up a bed, some food and fond memories but she's earning her keep too. Good stuff. Nice one and is it a dog or a vixen ?
  2. Micky Mouse and Minnie Mouse go to a marriage guidance Councillor to sort out their problems. After an hour of talking to them the Councillor says "Mr Mouse, your wife being ugly is no reason for a divorce." Micky Mouse replies "I didn't say she was ugly, I said she's f***ing Goofy."
  3. True, true, and when you have youngsters coming up to their first season that's when you have the JitterbugsWill they, won't they ???????????? You forgive them for their inexperience and praise them for everything they do correctly and I wont bullshit you, I often had an extra pint that night when a pup did well. Second season ??? That's when they start to earn the two years of feeding, rent and cleaning up after them. It's also time for them to do their parents proud. BUT, when you work with the same bloodlines all the time IMO you should see what you want to see in the first season. If
  4. And makes an excellent fox scented Red Biddy afterwards.
  5. JMHO but I find it strange that some find it unusual that a lad would lamp on his own. I lived at it and done most of my lamping on my own. Never gave it a thought and the proof in the pudding was in what you brought home for the pot or in fox tails. Preferred it to tell the truth.

  7. I presume you meant me in your post as I mentioned terriers. I've kept terriers, lurchers, strongdogs ,a gundog and a hound or two all with the same aim, to make them as good a worker as possible.
  8. She only lives about 20min away from me,and only last year in a local pub in my town there was a fundraiser for a local dog shelter. This pub laid on tea and sandwiches free of charge for the attendance that was there. This pub is also steeped in history for hunting and certain other lets say country activities and there were some stuffed animals, birds, chickens dotted about the place and all she did was complain about the poor animals and birds and how they must have died a terrible death, some of these were up on 100 year old,you Neil actually ended up with 1 some years back. Oh yeh, she's
  9. Don't thank me, thank Aideen and Co for giving us this information, she's such a good girl. http://banbloodsports.com/parties.htm
  10. To have walked the walk, and talk the talk (because he put it there in the written word for every one to see) and I'm sure he has a lot of T-Shirts IMO Mr Phil Lloyd would be a major contender. And that is certainly not an insult to all the other contenders.
  11. I hate to see any dog under weight and there's no excuse for it but is it good advise to say to give a pup as much as it wants at 5 1/2 months old. Good grub , yes, well fed ,yes, but personally I don't like to see an obese pup and some, if allowed, will eat themselves fat. The way I look at it is that all working dogs need stamina and in any walk of life do obese kids go on to win marathons ? I mentioned before that I don't like to see obese pups and some folk on here thought that I was saying that a pup should be skinny. That's not what I'm saying. But does obesity as a youngster not af
  12. We all say looks don't matter but lets face it a smart Lakeland is the smartest of them all, it's also the reason for their downfall. The nicest Lakelands I've ever seen on the WWW belonged to a lad who was on Moochers (and maybe still is) who went by the name Fair Game, I think ? I would think he done the business with them too, they were cracking looking. Is he a member on here ?
  13. A mate of mine reckons he has the best job. He's a diesel fitter in a knickers factory. He hold up each pair of knickers, checks them and says "Diesel Fitter".
  14. fine Gael seem to be the party in that list that have more pro hunting candidates than the other partys That doesn't solve the puzzle Jiggy. That's off an anti website, so what and who has been left out ????? You can bet your life that there's plenty left out that was said by pro hunting TDs. Such is politics .
  15. At the end of the day most of us hate politics, myself included, it's the same old bullshit either way. But, they work for us, not the other way around, so it's no harm to let them know that if they are pro or anti hunting it makes a big part in your decision. If they hear enough of that they'll start to think about their stance on fieldsports. If you read through that list of politicians you'll see some of them admit that they know nothing of hunting but it SOUNDS like it should be banned. One of the pro politicians in that list is local to me. She's photographed with a hunt. I was there
  16. http://banbloodsports.com/ge16.htm There ya go Jiggy.
  17. And don't forget that Labour are very much anti and whether they'll admit it or not so are Sinn Fein. They still seem to think that hunting is the English gentry riding across the Irish countryside.
  18. I hope I'm right in saying this but the last Irish government that meddled in fieldsports lost the next election. I'm not saying that was why they lost but some politicians think it was a big factor. It cost two local politicians around me their seats. In the middle of a recession !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even SF turned around on their stance on hunting when they realised it wouldn't help their cause to step on the hunting fraternity's toes. The Green Party the following year ,after being part of a coalition government, had NO seats whatsoever. This year the Greens are making another go of things
  19. They'll be knocking at your door so ask them.Don't go into detail about terriers etc. as they don't give a shit but let them know that you're a hunter and it will play a big part on your decision. I always do, but then again I live in an area where hunting has been most effected by politician ie. the Green Party been used as muppets by Fianna Fail. We sat in a local politicians office for an hour one day (after picketing outside) and he told us that he would NOT be voting for a ban on stag hunting. Thomas Byrne is his name.He voted FOR a ban. The next time elections arose he knocked at my
  20. There's lads on here saying they're glad they haven't got those sort of crabs in their jocks.
  21. Then you know the type of fishing I'm talking about Nicepix. My first encounter of bream was on Lough Ramor while I was spinning for pike and perch. An old lad came down with a 6 foot rod, what looked like 20 lbs BS line and a 2 hook rig, size 8s. He put about 10 maggots on each hook and cast into the lake, no feeding of any kind. It was a fish a cast and he threw every single fish onto the bank behind him. Dozens and dozens of big bream. I asked him why he was killing them and he said that the lake was polluted. I know now he meant with coarse fish. When he went I got one of the fish, h
  22. Treehands, I'm a Deerstalker man myself. I see the law coming and I pull a big pipe out of my pocket and say "elementary my dear Watson." They always let me go. Years ago I wore a woolly Jellybag and never went through a hedge without loosing it, hate them. A good ol' flat cap does me.
