  1. That was a big litter. On the shooting forum on Boards.ie someone reckons they seen a hen pheasant with 4 chicks, don't know if it's true or not but if it is it shows everything is well ahead. We'll be able to start in June, LOL.
  2. I've heard of someone carrying a bar with them, don't know if it's true though.
  3. Can anyone relate to this song ? It reminds me of when I started on the sites there were plenty of lads with English accents but they were all Irish and had been in England for years. They were tough men who'd seen tough times. Enjoy.
  4. When I was 16/17 I used to think the only job as hard as fencing was the brickies labourer. Mixing all day and dishing it out. Forklift does it all now so fencing is the hardest... Obviously haven't tried scaffolding so.
  5. Oh, and the fact she must be two foot of the ground, LOL, everything a Hare epitomizes .
  6. What I love about that photo is the lines on her coat where she's been flying through the heather. Good detail. Plus the look in her eye.
  7. You'd better believe it regarding young ones coming on. I've been spoilt the last few years and it's left me with a kennel of old reliable's but nothing young coming on and now I'm waiting nearly two years for a couple of bitches to break down. Hope I'm not in trouble. Good bitches are like good women, you're better off looking AT them than looking FOR them. Plus they're very rare, .
  8. True, true, and when you have youngsters coming up to their first season that's when you have the Jitterbugs Will they, won't they ???????????? You forgive them for their inexperience and praise them for everything they do correctly and I wont bullshit you, I often had an extra pint that night when a pup did well. Second season ??? That's when they start to earn the two years of feeding, rent and cleaning up after them. It's also time for them to do their parents proud. BUT, when you work with the same bloodlines all the time IMO you should see what you want to see in the first season. I
  9. This ones got to be told in a Yorkshire accent. There's 3 bachelor farmers, brothers called Tom, Dick and Harry. All big raw men from the moors. One day Tom and Harry decide to go into Leeds to see if they can find a couple of women. They get chatting to 2 women in a bar when one of the women says to Harry "Oh look, haven't you lads got very big hands." Harry replies "Ay up luv, ya think are ands are big, you should see the size of are Dicks."
  10. I hope you have that in a frame FUJI, that's where it belongs.
  11. An Eskimo visits Ireland and is driving along when his car breaks down. There's a garage only a few yards up the road so he pushes his car into it and asks the mechanic to have a look under the bonnet. It's a hot day so he goes into the shop and buys himself a choc ice. When he's finished he strolls over to the mechanic. The mechanic looks at him and says "you've blown a seal." The Eskimo wipes his lips and says "No mate, it's just ice cream."
  12. It's a well known fact that the reason there's no snakes in Ireland is because St Patrick ran them all out, but few people know the St Patrick also created the marshmallow, hence the reason Ireland has no moles.
  13. He sounds the sort who should have his guns taken off him.
  14. Have to say Treehands, not sure about rattin' but I dug with a few lads over the years where it might have been safer to wear a hard hat.
  15. No doubt about it Ginger Beard YOU are a scumbag, nothing more, nothing less. A lowlife, piece of shit scumbag who has some neck coming on to a working dog forum.
  16. I make no apologies for putting up photos of Ireland's two biggest antis (and a politician who's now out of work) as they put my name and number up on the WWW a few years back.
  17. She only lives about 20min away from me,and only last year in a local pub .............................................................................................................................Neil actually ended up with 1 some years back. Jays Neil, You're some man to take her home with you and throw yourself on the grenade. Is there nothing you wouldn't do for hunting? B She only lives about 20min away from me,and only last year in a local pub .........................................................................................................................
  18. That's interesting as IMO the Irish Hare in a hard Winter definitely does tend to be lighter in colour. I know that scientifically that that doesn't make sense but I see them daily. The last time I seen white Hares or mostly white Hares was 6 or 7 years ago when Hunting was cancelled for a few weeks because of severe weather. The Gun Clubs imposed a voluntary ban on shooting the same year. We seen pied or fully white Hares a few times a week then. None since.
  19. Great pics Treehands. I love the hard hats and hi viz jackets. Health and Safety has finally met terrierwork, LOL.
  20. So am I FFS, so this time next year you'll be known as MIcK and DD will be known as PaddyDog, .
  21. Yep, everything seems early this year. I seen a few earths today that looked like a vixen has been getting them ready for giving birth. Don't the old reliable's make life so much easier when you've a job to do ? I love pups but they have me a bunch of nerves when I'm out with them as they're liable to do anything but out with an old trusted worker is "usually" a walk in the park.
  22. Lets do a lad a favour, https://www.donedeal.ie/lostandfound-for-sale/lurcher-dog-substantial-reward-offered/11427644
  23. It was probably a prediction of a mild Winter but I didn't see one Hare with a white patch all year. In fact, I seen one last week that was probably the darkest Hare I've ever seen. I was standing watching a course when she got up at my feet. Does the Blue Hare turn white even in a mild Winter ? The Irish being a sub-species of the Blue only tends to go paler, pied or white when the weather is severe. I noticed JDs Hare still has a little bit of brown above her eye.
