I dont know Wilf personally but my guess is he,s not a University educated man with degrees and letters after his name....................yet he has spoken more sense in 2 posts on an internet forum than we see in weeks of nonsensical drivel coming out of folks mouths far more educated than he is...........if " wilf off the hunting life forum " can see common sense.....what a scarey thought that very few others intellectually more gifted in higher places than us cant !

Im off following the Hammers against Cardiff sunday i just wondered if anyone knew the layout of Cardiff city centre and any quiet out the way pubs where a few low key cockneys might be able to watch the Leeds/Southampton game tomorrow without getting mullered My mrs booked a hotel for us smack bang in the middle of the city centre thinking they played at the Millenium stadium .....so any sporty type pubs round there that anyone knows of ?....quieter the better !...

Certainly a sad ending and you have to feel sorry for the fella......but i dont see why when someone dies folk come out with all these catchy phrases about how brave or heroic a person was.....why was this fella brave ? he was shot in an instant while sat in a car,and survived....its great that he survived but i dont see whats brave about it.......yes he suffered an extremely traumatic event and lost his sight,thats terrible.......then lost his mrs,thats terrible........but within 2 years has decided to quit on his own life and his childrens lives....i dont see anything brave about that at all

Not to get involved in you chaps debate.......but i can never understand comments like this one above........i mean,what exactly do you think we should be doing ? Our country has been invaded by people we dont know,dont like and half the time cant communicate with..............at least allow us to have a bit of a whinge and a moan about it now and again.....................or does it make us racists if we actually dare to say we dont like something thats happening under our noses !

The thing is Dunc....man has bred dogs supposedly for the better....not for the worse............the Lurcher is a fine animal bred from a cross of breeds whos great qualities were utilised in order to create a fine animal......you wouldnt use a Great Dane or a Corgi to make a Lurcher would you because they dont possess the traits needed......Likewise the apbt doesnt possess any of the qualities in abundance needed to create a good pet dog .....none whatsoever.........so this would just be backward breeding and i dont feel that can ever be condoned............now if you wanted to create a form

Possibly....i guess some folk see whatever they want to see........if god is of benefit to folk and adds something to their life i cant see a problem with that............pushing a glass across a toy board i cant see any benefit in that but again,each to their own.......

I always get the piss taken out of me for saying i believe in god.....but i certainly dont believe in all this f****n nonsense !..........What possible reason is there to think any of its real............but then i guess some would say the same about god......so each to their own.

While i accept im probably too much of a purist i do believe the further you take a sporting dog away from its sport the more you dilute what it essentially is...........take fighting dogs away from the fight over enough generations and they cease to be fighting dogs ( proven fact ).......take racing dogs away from the race over enough generations and they cease to be racing dogs............personally i dont feel i have the authority to compromise years and years of selective breeding before me,purely for my benefit.....but each to their own.

Football supporters are not trying to drum up support for their club......football supporters getting pissed and fighting are not going to turn people off supporting their club. To the average man in the street watching that program most probably turned a lot of folk off any kind of nationalist movement of any sort...........if a man wants to put himself up as the face of a group of people that others can follow and listen to then he shouldnt be acting like a childish fool......and thats why this edl carry on will never be taken seriously.

We park our cars in the same lot .......I cant speak for greyhounds as i dont have much experience with them......but as regards the apbt,i would rather they simply died out and no longer exist as a breed rather than watch them end up a fashion statement or a piece of home furniture like some breeds.........

Can i come into your home tonight and stay for the next few months ? I,ll sleep on the floor and only bring 3 of my brothers,we will use your kettle and tv nothing else,and only eat your bread and biscuits while you eat roast dinners and completely waste your money on other things........shouldnt be a problem should it ?

We,re not talking about retired racers.....i totally agree with you,hence ive donated to the retired greyhound trust many times....... We,re talking about a performance bred dog being used as a pet INSTEAD of a racer.............as far as im aware theres not a retired pit bull trust where ex fighters live out a happy life in the home................there is for greyhounds and thats great..............but it still doesnt excuse putting any performance bred dog into the family home from day 1 to cope with the strains and stresses of being a family pet IN PREFERENCE to being where that dog reall

I think the grey you refer to is probably blue.....however its not a colour associated with the apbt more a showbred amstaff type thing....you say you was around the breed 20 years ago and there wasnt any blues around then certainly not from performance stock. Anyway i feel i should probably apologise,you sound a good responsible dog owner and im sure you would do just fine with one id certainly rather someone like yourself own one than the the paki/street hoodlum type that seem to have got their hands on them lately. No i have never been a fan of apbt,s being kept in family pet homes......i accept some folk do just like i accept some folk keep racing greyhounds in family pet homes.....i dont think thats ideal either........im not talking about working dogs im talking about sporting dogs.....the apbt was never bred as a working dog it

My apologies also i obviously took it wrong.......an apbt that will not fight a dog is not subnormal,its just a poor representative of its breed.....same as a greyhound that wont run is a poor representative of its breed or a hunting dog that wont hunt........................the fact that the task the apbt was bred for involves such a highly driven dog of such physical prowess makes it dangerous in the wrong hands or in the wrong situations.....................or both............and this is not something that happened centuries ago we,re only talking 30/40 years ago when this breed was predomi

If you had looked at the whole conversation rather than jumping down my throat you would have realised that the conversation i was having with Duncan was about PBT ( pit bull terriers ).....thats why i highlighted his post in my own And your other statement about Dalmations and Huskies is equally wrong...................how many perfectly healthy Dalmations and Huskies have been put to sleep due to idiotic owners ? how many Damations and Huskies have caused mayhem on the streets on an international scale ?.....have there been plans put in place for over 20 years to exterminate the breeds
