Maybe your right.....since ive cut a hole in the door ive noticed none of them have gone in it yet ......im not sure if its because they are dubious of going into an enclosed space or what.......im hoping when i put some heat in the shed it will entice them in..............or if they are happy outside so be it just thought it best to give them the option.

i suppose gnash , what came home to me last night, when we had to play (quite) a good side.We were not good enough, and thats the bottom line mate. Like isaid once world cup kicks off,and the decent teams start to play, england we be coming home early.Lets face it it was only couple of young lads played last night, and you got to give them a go no prob with that. But you could see that england were out played all over the pitch. So he brings on more experience players, to (try) and turn the game round, and that didnt work either, drop another goal. No mate england done well to get to the wor

For 90% of football fans thats how it is week in week out.................yet we still go and watch and give our support to our club sides who are not good enough.......................when English football fans get this deluded idea out of our heads that we are anything more than a mediocre international side yous might actually get behind the team like you do with your club sides ! Only a non competitor or somebody completely naive to competetive sport could possibly think a sportsman can reach the pinnacle of his sport by being " a bottler "........ There wont be any sort of " play off " type thing theres more than just British heavyweights in the queue.............some of the fighters are only where they are today due to how poor the division is so it wont hurt for some of them to start mixing it with each other rather than holding on for the one big pay day.

This " passion "......what does it look like ?..........up until the astronomical wages in football i had never heard the word " passion " being used as a reason for losing a football match......if players were on 50 quid a game would we still hear it used ......i doubt it ! Rugby is a game where players smash into each other its a bit hard not to look passionate...........when Steve Davis started losing snooker matches or if England lose a cricket match.....do they lack passion......or is it just that they wasnt good enough to win. I was at the game last night it amazes me the amount of fans turning on the team......we,ve qualified for the finals easily.........been playing some decent stuff lately.........but because we go and lose a game to a similar placed team its panic time.......makes me laugh the way some people have this ridiculous overeaction any time we lose a game ! Look at France.......one of the most succesful nations in recent times,world cup winners,runners up and twice semi finalists all in the last 25 years...............yet now look like they are not even going to qualify !!...................We won

As regards bulldogs i always felt it was a case of " instinct will get him there but gameness will keep him there " I must admit when i first took an interest in hunting maybe 7 or 8 years ago i felt there was no dog alive that could impress me as much as a bulldog,i made the mistake of comparing every dog to them and dismissing other dogs/breeds as lacking gameness......................until the time i realised competition is competition and hunting is hunting...................things dont need to be fair with hunting like they do with competition and that was where i lacked understanding

Now you,ve gone and spoilt it While i agree instinct can definately be redirected and even overridden to a point...........you know as well as i do that as much as a bulldog can turn their hand to other things.......you will not overide that desire to stop 2 game bred bulldogs doing what comes natural.............in that sense this debate has turned full circle in as much as the whole problem in my opinion that the bulldog suffered as a pet breed of dog was people were trying to overide the instinct to do battle in order to make family pets.

Same here it took me a couple of reads .....but i like that its very well written and makes perfect sense......all apart from the " social ability can overcome instinct,shepherds fitted into protection work, labs make good service dogs "................personally i dont think its instinct being overcome,more a case of instinct being redirected............but cracking post anyway.

Thats like asking when a cur quits after 5 minutes is he gamer than a dog who quit after 2 minutes but not as game as a dog who quit after 10 minutes. For me by using the word " gameness " it has to start with something or its just not being sensible whatever breed or animal your talking about.

Gameness has nothing to do with drive.................drive is a physical thing gameness is all mental.....................you say it would be suicidal for a Greyhound to be as fast in the wild.......yes as it would be for a Bulldog to extremely game in the wild.....................hence both breeds have a certain trait that has been heightened by man that if not heightened by man would not be there to such a level....................ie its not natural its man made. Gnasher, I'd have to disagree, it's not man made, it's nature , but man manipulated Blimey thats being picky ..............
