Bang on good post that...............we all like to think our own rivalry is the biggest.....but when you have seen more than your own one you quickly realise whats what........and for me a rivalry with nasty intensity tops a plain old big noisy one any day !.....Try a Galatasaray/Fenerbarche or Olympiacos/Panathanaikos.......they will open your eyes

I think that would of been the sort of fight you look through your fingers at .......very messy ......and possibly dangerous !!.......but agreed would of been some war id imagine.

I think that pack leader stuff is a load of ol bollocks a dogs mind has evolved so much over time they would have to be pretty dumb to see us as a member of their pack !..........They are just pleased to see their pal thats all......be it a stroke/food/walk/work.......they know attention is coming their way and a need will be met.

There was a fair few left stuck at the airport by all accounts ...but yes probaby close to a thousand though the atmosphere wasnt great as the venue was too big for the event really. I dont think anybody thought Sturm had a performance like that in him he just looked so sharp and i have my doubts if even a 100% fit Barker would of beat him.....Darrens always been technically good,carried decent power and had a big heart.........but again,due to his fragile body has always been a bit one paced i think Sturm knew if he started at a really fast pace Darren wouldnt be able to switch gears.......

I think " legend " is one of those silly words that get thrown around but i do think Froch can be placed alongside those names......apart from Benn,as a fan id rather watch a Carl Froch fight than any of the others he gives value for money and until now has avoided nobody and always strived for the biggest fights out there........that should always count for something. Personally i think he will get beat next time out against any of the top opposition he is getting noticeably worse over his last 3 fights and was very lucky to come out on top in the Groves fight.

Im going from bad to worse i got 2 out of 8 games this weekend ...........still its a european week coming up so hopefully get a bit back before chucking it down the toilet again next weekend

Just got back from the fight this aftenoon it was a real shame the way it went but not really surprising Darrens been on borrowed time for a while now its a miracle his career has lasted as long as it has......i boxed with his dad Terry as amateurs the whole family came through the Repton club real decent people.....the heartache with his brother has been well documented but what hasnt been well documented is the heartache Darren has had with injuries he has weak joints and must of had 6 or 7 operations on shoulders,elbows and hips over the years he has never been able to get himself in as goo

Think thats a bit strong mate .....he hasnt done anything wrong and in my eyes he has been a fighter we all as Brits can be very proud of............Im just surprised that for someone who rides the tag of " warrior " he hasnt watched that Groves fight back and realised he was schooled for 90% of the fight.......and so want to put it right.

one more fight ward --lose go out with nothing but a fat pay cheque win ---end up with all the belts and a fat pay cheque... just makes more sense to me than a rematch with grooves as much as I`d like to see it ... I think Ward is the direction he will want to take as its a fight he,s not expected to win so puts him in a nice position................but as loathe as i am to call a fighter a " warrior " as its a stupid label to give a professional sportsman.......he does play up to the tag. He wont beat Ward he knows that.................so why not go out with a good old fashioned

If its anything like the same fixture last season he,ll be as well going up there with bricks and mortar rather than a roll of cling wrap .....my god it was horrible !! He,s not out to build a career mate he,s at the other end.....fighters looking to leave a legacy on the sport choose their own direction......whatever opponent Froch fights next will ultimately be his own choice as Groves was his mandatory.

When a fighter says " i dont go over old ground "....................but then ask a fighter who has already convincingly beat you to " go over old ground "............belts or no belts thats double standards in my book.

Controversy in sport happens for a thousand reasons it dont mean you walk away from it if its not your fault.............you dont think Froch has double standards expecting Ward to do something he wont do himself ?.......and Ward beat him convincingly with no controversy.

Are we to assume Adam Booth doesnt know a good fighter when he sees one then ?......Were we to assume Freddie Roach didnt know a good fighter when he saw one ? I think we,ll survive comfortably as theres some piss poor teams down the bottom and our season cant get any worse.............just a shame to have gone backwards having paid out huge money on 2 good players. Lets just hope Ward doesnt cop the same attitude as Froch and say " nah sorry chief i dont like going over old ground i like to move forward " .......double standards ? Nobody could begrudge Froch a nice easy fight to go out on a high with he deserves it..........but if he,s looking to pursue new goals he needs to clear up this massive controversy rather than trying to rematch a fighter who soundly beat him with no controversy.
