  1. "Scrappy" ? Two of the best players ever, playing out a 6-5 final with over 30 180's !! Were you watching the same match ? In all fairness Anderson did say himself it was a scrappy game........i think he probably meant in terms of the amounts of missed doubles.......both players averages were up and down every set. Gnash , I've been watching the BDO "World Championship" on BBC and Bt , and to see 70 and averages makes a mockery of darts. The PDC is so far in front it's unbelievable ! To call this final "Scrappy" is insane. The level of darts now is something old aquaintences of mine like

  3. He was without doubt an exceptionally strong man Glen Ross but for me a competition for body strength should be about winning inspite of your size not because of it.......those events where they would rest the bar on their belts or in his case rest the bar on his stomach to me went against everything strength and fitness should be about.......when you see proper strength athletes like Jouko Ahola or Pudzianowski competing in the same sport as a guy like Glen Ross it just didnt seem right to me.
  4. Dempsey,Tunney,Schmelling,Walcot,Marciano,Patterson,Charles,Johnson.......even Joe Louis........all would of been cruiserweights today.
  5. Cracking final he deserved it Anderson......after the way he played last night i thought he only needed to get close to that again and Taylor be slightly below par and he,d win it which is pretty much how it went, held his nerve well towards the end.
  6. The Cell thats it........Flex Appeal was Tony Lee,s old gym was it not.....was you there when he was alive mate ? if not id imagine your mate would of known him he was from my time Tony we started out in the gym game around the same time he was a cracking character..... as northerners go ! Yep your mates doing the right thing keeping with the cardio its a mistake not to......as some of us find out too late Yes he was still there him and his wife Angie were lovely people it was tragic what happened to him. They loved their Rottweilers and bulldogs I docked a litter of rottie pups for them wh
  7. It must be some consolation to you that it took his best ever goal to deprive your lot of your just deserts . If i was a fan of any other team id be saying he was the best English midfielder of his generation........but its hard to heap praise on someone that broke your heart !

  9. He was ok i suppose.
  10. That makes sense yep.....forgetting the Goldies colouring its not difficult to tell them apart from the canaries.........in a performance to show bulldog type of way is a good analogy i like that
  11. So do you not go to pubs at all or go to a different pub? For someone who's had it with this site, you seem to be here a lot. What you do when you dont like a pub or the people in that pub is you keep returning to it and trying to change it.......even though you have already found a much better pub with much better people in it .........Never mind an over 18 section give the silly c**t an under 9,s section and be done with it for f**k sake !

    God

Fraz there was a time when somebody would talk to me like that and id feel a rumbling deep inside that id have to really work hard on keeping in check......now i can read that and just have a gentle giggle to myself..........and thats how i know im on the right track .....Yes ive heard the saying the bigger they are the harder they fall.......ive also heard the saying the bigger they are the harder they hit but whats that got to do with anything ? ......you sound like a bitter man who is gaining nothing productive from his learnings and while i find your opinions on God very interesting you a
  13. Its only a rough guide i wouldnt get too hung up on it .....a sign you are in good nick is when your bicep, neck and calf are all within an inch of each other . ......................Its like with the bulldogs years ago you knew a dog was well balanced and in good shape when his head circumference and waist were roughly the same.......might as well try that while your there Tomo
  14. They edit loads of lines out, often whole scenes sometimes on Gold....same with Minder......................makes you realise how much thicker skinned we all were.
  15. Ol leave off so now we cant even address each other in our own tongue let alone foreigners ..............Do people just make a point of sitting around thinking of things to be offended about !
  16. In my experience of lads like that it was a case of....take drink away and they become normal lads.....take mates away and they become normal drinkers. I couldnt be around f****n idiots like that the drink culture we have in this country is truly embarrassing.
  17. Oh ok i know the name yes he has an industrial unit down in Kent that they all train out of am i right ?....cant for the life of me remember what its called now i sent a couple of lads down there some time ago as we dont cater for all that but either he or the place had packed up i forget which now.....thats odd about Terry Hollands he seemed quite knowledgable,i dont know him that well but he seemed really dedicated to me so just go,s to show......think his times been and gone to be fair if he was going to win at world level i think he would have done by now.
  18. Id never paid Sunderland a blind bit of notice till about a year ago now i find myself looking for their result every week .....the power of the internet
  19. Dare i say it.......have you thought about getting some friends together and going to a pub for some adult banter and laughs.....who knows you might even meet a woman.
  20. Must admit i still find it so difficult to tell the difference between these little birds if that picture had said what colour is this canary i wouldnt of batted an eyelid !......what is it body shape ? head shape or what ?
  21. .......classic !Strong politically correct response was strong. The longest running thread on this forum is about god. Think about that haha. There used to be joke threads, funny stories, good pictures and now all it is god or what's been on the news I think its probably where the age thing comes in...... i quite like discussing things like God as its not something ive exprienced much of in regular life.....ive experienced enough tits, fannys and jokes over the years to find talking about them and looking at pictures on the internet a bit sad to be honest. Call me old fashioned but if
  22. Ive got it on the planner thing i,ll give it a watch later on i had the darts on.......good watch id imagine they had some good characters and certainly knew how to play the David v Goliath game !
  23. spot on there gnash. My mate Paul trains with Terry Holland and was Britain's 105kg champ for a couple of years. To see him superyokeing over 400kg and log pressing 130 was much more impressive than seeing them 30 stones doing 20 or 30kg more especially as before he started training at the age of 32 he was only 12.5stone . Thats it mate.....you often find the smaller lads ( not that 16 stone is small ) try to bulk up for the open comps but their bodies just cant deal with the extra calories and they just cant compete with the big lads.....i used to train regularly with Jimmy Marku he was anot
  24. Do you think his early death was due to his extreme training gnash ... As in bulking up rapidly for strongman events and then cutting back for bodybuilding ??? ... I remember reading that a weak heart was something that his family is supposed to have suffered from but that could have been made up ... Or maybe it was to do with poor knowledge on what they were taking at the time ??? .......... Ive spoken to Jon Palls son before and yes heart defects were in the family,at least 3 of his male descendants had suffered premature heart failure........any strength athlete will have an enlarge
