Surely though human survival instinct must come into play......im sure these dogs can make an awful mess of a person and in short order too....but if either myself or my accomplice have a club hammer to hand that dog only has one mouth and im pretty sure that with even 1 crack of it i could do a fair amount of damage myself........ok we,re talking scenarios and situations but i guess what im asking is do these dogs have the same intensity when under pressure themself......i guess theres no way of knowing unless a real situation arises its not like you can just take a hammer to a dog to find ou

Sports Personality Of The Year Voting Closes Soon!
gnasher16 replied to shepp's topic in General Talk
Did Fury deserve to win it because he is white then ?......Frank Bruno had ten times more personality and charisma than Fury has and he didnt win it.....David Haye,Herbie Hide,Henry Akinwande all won world heavyweight titles they didnt win it either. -
What makes you think it will have an impact on future generations if it didnt have an impact on you ?.......after all you/we/us are the ones passing things on to the next generation. Personally i think folk make too much of a fuss over being " accepted ".

Much as we would all love England to play like Spain and Brazil we just dont have the talent so why bother trying its like we,re trying to match the worlds best with players just not up to it.....could you imagine Peter Crouch or Andy Carroll playing in a Spanish or Brazilian side no.... yet given the chance i think Andy Carroll would score plenty of goals playing to our strengths ( if he could stay fit longer than 5 minutes ).....we are at a complete crossroads as a national team we either have to totally embrace European style football or stick to what we have had success with in the past...

Im currently in training for the East London synchronised swimming title.

I dont really understand this whole thing of caring for what the general public thinks and winning them over.......if the general publics dislike doesnt stop you doing it then why would you care what they think just commit to your own beliefs and bollocks to anyone else..... unimportant people are......well.....unimportant !

Whether he,ll have the authority as a manager im not sure but in some ways i hope he doesnt i miss him doing the punditry stuff he was like a breath of fresh air really interesting to listen to. Very knowledgeable fella, I think he's working his career after football very cleverly, involved with the England set up, now the move to Valencia, the way he seems to absorb information and retain it, all these experiences should line him up very well for the future, certainly one to watch. Its obvious he just lives and breathes the game.....like i say its refreshing........puts himself across we

I,ll take your word for it mate like i said to you before thats way too much dog for me at this point in life Purely out of interest, would that still apply to a man fighting back with i dont know a bat/bar tool of some kind.....is a proper manstopper expected to take punishment......if so surely condition has to come into it.

Dont be silly nobody will be able to afford to go to Utd games this time of year what with the Arndale centre AND the Trafford centre.
-
I love the game but wouldnt claim to know much tactically......yet its always struck me how as a nation England have never played to our strengths, why when we play tricky highly technical teams like Spain do we try to play technical football like them instead of the old fashioned pace and power we are good at......we would all love to play like Spain and Brazil........i would imagine Carl Froch would like to box like Muhammad Ali but you do what your best at to get results.

I agree it followed its instinct and thats more than most dogs do these days......but like anything a dog will only perform well for as long as it has air in its lungs, hence an average dog in great condition is always better than a good dog in poor condition id imagine that theory applies to almost any task a dog is set.

I dont know were your sources are for expectations but I for one and most others u speak for just want to watch a decent game of football, werent you west hams fans all prattling on about the west ham way? I think man utd is a little better known for attacking football than west ham so after spending god knows how many hundreds of millions of pounds I think utd fans are entitled to be frustrated by the way the team are playing. You got Sam Allardice and spent bog all yet expected to play like man utd we are man utd spent half a billion and employed van gaal one of supposed top coaches, I yhink

Perfect pitches....packed out stadiums.....record viewing figures......some of the worlds best talent......................and Millwall gone and forgotten about in the lower leagues.......yes id call that massive progress ! And your point is? One more time, part of his post is about the 1960s. and yes until Millwall is no more I will support them, is there a Problem With That My point is only a Millwall fan could possibly think that players rolling round in the mud chucking beer down their neck at half time were " the good old days " in terms of competetive sport...................

Thats what i was getting at........i find it hard to believe a dog carefully selected over many years for its fighting qualities could ever be as good as a dog carefully selected even for a few years for its guarding qualities........ive seen pit bulls turn on humans on a couple of occassions and neither time was it a pretty sight but i would guess its the difference between wild mayhem and correct procedure in terms of breeding/selection/training etc.
-
Again,i know nothing about guard/protection dogs but i know a little about pit bulls and i wouldnt imagine a pit bull would work its hold on a human the way it would on another dog......take hold and keep hold yes......work its hold and swap for better ones with the same intensity as it would another dog im not so sure about that.

Spot on with that comment its the difference between young men who want to be famous and young men who want to be boxing champions.........no razzmatazz no attention seeking gypsy warrior nonsense Bills dad when asked how proud he is said " very proud but no more proud than any other father of a word champion would be "......just nice normal humble people i went past their place today just a white bedroom sheet with " champion of the warld " written on it,an england flag and a few balloons.......he,s certainly put Holywell Caravan Site on the map .......the accomplishment is the achievement i

well any breed of dog over 100lb going to get bad hips+ elbows , HD was very bad in bullmastiffs, and there temps were to docile, they why I came out of the breed, you spend more time at the vets with them . the B/mal I reckon if well bred would make hell of a guard dog, after seeing them on the vids. they don't loose there hold and got very strong jaw and strong dogs for there size. lets face it a bite of a farm collie would fekin hurt never mind a 70lb B/mal , and be more healthy and vicious than most boerboels . I have no idea about the health of the Boerboel (Farmers Bulldog

I agree with a few of the comments above while we accept these things have to be done and we dont have a problem with it theres some things you really dont need to make a song and dance about......what possible reason is there to take a picture like that i dont understand it !

Yes but by the same token Harry Cripps or Terry Hurlock wouldnt of lasted 2 minutes with the speed and technicality of todays premier league.......if you like watching people sliding about in the mud kicking each other up in the air go and watch rugby !.......but if you are a fan of pure football its called progress. It certainly is a strange season people say there are better leagues around the world but do lesser clubs and second tier clubs come up and do what the likes of Palace/Watford/Leicester are doing in La Liga,Serie A or the Bundesliga.....i dont think theres a league anywhere

Brilliant win he boxed perfectly to the plan Jimmy set i thought Billy should of had enough confidence in his own chin to open up and really try to get him out after the knockdowns but then thats why Jimmy Tibbs is a top trainer and im not .......Lee had the reach and power advantages but Saunders overcame that by working his upper body into positions to steal space and exploding forward with his jab......along with his sound defence he has always had good reactions and sees things quickly the way he closed the space, rolled and threw the jab/hook was what got Lee down in the first place.....i
