Fury V Klitcksko Rematch May The 7Th Germany

Fury didnt win 11 rounds out of 12 he won by 3 rounds on the judges cards in what was a very poor heavyweight fight he did enough to win and thats what counts.....as for whether he is 6 ft 9 its the 85 inch reach that guys are going to struggle with he can keep it long and has the strength to tie opponents up on the inside......it doesnt make for exciting fights but its effective. -

When you look at the average big athletic guy walking the streets they are what 6ft 2 - 6 ft 4 ?.......14 - 16 stone ?.......that is a " heavyweight " fighter of recent years.......but today it simply isnt big enough and so guys of that size ( of which there are loads ) dont really have any place in boxing as they are too big for cruiserweight and not big enough for todays heavyweights.......lets be honest how many guys do you see walking round the streets at 6 ft 9 ?......it is an extremely large size for any athlete but for a fighter it is freak size..........even an average fighter with rea -

He,s the champion mate he can do what he likes.....what the general public thinks is irrelevant if the numbers add up and it makes sense to all concerned then you have a fight......Fury got away with murder as a contender some of his choice of opponents were a disgrace but you get away with it at that level its only as a world champion your level of opponent is put under the microscope......and rightly so.....but you can still only fight whats out there and he is in a division with a severe lack of talent so you would like to think he will keep active. -
The weigh ins take place the day before for safety...... same day weigh ins are dangerous when a fighter is cutting weight as he doesnt have enough time to re - hydrate from the weigh in and is therefore left in a possibly dangerous position. My point is quite often a fighter is in a very unhealthy state on the scales,no fighter can fight in that condition therefore the whole cutting weight thing becomes pointless and you will see fighters fighting closer to their true weight for their size and not losing fights on the scales if the weigh in was minutes before the fight.

Its a part of bodybuilding ive always found embarrassing but whether we like it or not a bigger and bigger volume of men are taking up bodybuilding to either look good in their local nightclub or are doormen trying to .....well.....look like doormen !.......they have no clue nor interest in the competetive side of bodybuilding so to call them sportsmen is a little bit silly.......we all have our reasons for training and most of them are good reasons but i think the minute you start looking at it as anything more than personal achievement you start to lose touch with the reason your doing it in

If thats the case theres nothing stopping Fury having a non title bout. But what big names are going to fight him in a non title fight. Im sure Haye would.....or Dillian Whyte....and thats just in England im sure theres plenty if the money was right........when a fighter claims he wants to stay active he,s not going to be fighting big names all the time. -
Ive had the discussion with a few chaps who are far more knowledgable than i am and although it would be a very radical change.....what reason is there not to have the weigh in,in the ring before the fight !!.......if indeed we want the true weight of a fighter for his size.......there is no safety issues as they will have had to hydrate themself correctly and prepare their bodies within the scope of what the true intentions of " a weigh in " actually are.

Just opinions Phil thats all...... i must admit if 30 years ago id had even half the enthusiasm i have for the sport now i might of been more than just a human punch bag

Good luck to the lad there are many kinds of riches and we all chase different types at different stages of life i had no value for the countryside as a younger man and the city was where the money was at but i can totally understand the riches that a content and peaceful life can bring we just dont all live life at the same pace......as someone said above its about striking the balance.

I said dont show anyone the pink ones you rat With that theory the minute your dog steps on stage to win a rosette it becomes a sport....no ? Greyhound racing/400 metre sprinting = sport Confirmation dog show/confirmation bodybuilding = ???.....how can 1 be a sport but not the other.

A sport has to have an event.......what is classed as the " event " in bodybuilding.....the show...a bodybuilding show requires no exertion,no skill and is not entertaining..........everything a bodybuilder does is part of his everyday life.....hence why its a lifestyle not a sport. Socks you understand working/sporting dogs......do you believe confrimation dog shows are sport ?

You are not competing against anybody.....there is no prize for you apart from personal achievement.......so are you not a bodybuilder ?

Middleweight and below use 8oz gloves.....above middleweight use 10oz.....its was the same in the ,s......i think the last size change was in the 50,s or early 60,s when heavyweights used 8,s.....thumbless gloves came out in the ,s and the overall design has changed a lot but the weights have stayed the same. As regards 15 round fights i couldnt agree more....." heart " no longer plays a part as the fighters are too fit to require heart, when a fighter gets dropped early in a fight and comes back to win thats not showing heart its showing basic competetive desire.....if that same fighter ge

Im a dab hand at tiddlywinks but i cant convince anyone its a sport

Bodybuilding judges go on their own opinion of what body beautiful is......one judge could have a totally different " eye " to another.......gymnastics i would presume, like boxing has a strict scoring system that must be adhered to regardless who the judges are. When you are on a bodybuilding stage posing in front of a crowd the actual contest is already over....therefore their is no " event " as such. For me a sport has to have the same essential ingredients and aim at every level......ie,a football team is trying to score the most goals at any level from 10 year old boys to 200k per

Fury is a distance fighter Mick......he relies on staying out of trouble and using his reach so being able to go the rounds is far more essential to his game plan than it is to a fighter like Joshua,s .......accurate power punchers and ko artists dont want to go rounds the same as distance fighters dont want a tear up......yes in an ideal world we would like to think a fighter has it in his locker to get up off the canvas........but whether he can or cant wont make much difference to a fighter who is putting all his eggs in one basket to knock you out.......its not like it used to be when all

Why would they be falling over to fight him what's he got to bring not like he's a champ holding belts Anybody below him will be desperate to fight him......anybody above him will be desperate to avoid him.............its basic ranking manipulation.

Except it was % adverts !.....and the same ones at that

I suppose so......more than that though sport has to have " an event " surely ?......bodybuilding doesnt have a match/game/fight/race whatever it might be......maybe im talking bollocks i dont know i just consider bodybuilding a lifestyle/hobby rather than a sport.

I don know much about music but in terms of voice where would Freddie Mercury fit into all this ?....or wouldnt he.

I agree if a person hasnt got the reactions to stop a modern car from 70 mph in 100 yards they shouldnt be on the road......thats what 30 car lengths for crying out loud !

Just corrected a bit of vocab for you there

Taking shots is something fans feel a need to see trainers dont want to see their fighters take shots,ever.....Mick if upon taking shots you dont like what you see do you think it will stop him winning a world title ?......i remember watching Fury get levelled by a much smaller guy it didnt stop him using the assets he does have to win a world title.......power punchers like Joshua or Tyson in his day do not set out to have long fights they are putting all their eggs in one basket to get their opponent out, hence why much of heavyweight boxing is about who lands first.
