The 'growth' was largely down to the Olympic & paralympic games and associated construction and tourism. IE a one off! Are we going to build and host Olympic & paralympic games every quarter? At work we have been barely ticking over for the last 4 years on reduced money and hours, same for lots of people in construction and other sectors. Anyhow the snidey fuckers will probably revise the 'growth' quietly downwards in a month or so when they have the real numbers and someone with a better grasp of adding up than Gordon Brown has double checked everything. Out of recession, MY ARSE!

More ill thought out knee jerk bullshit. I have not had a reply of WH Smith. If I do I will ask them what ID would be acceptable for kids to prove they are old enough to buy shooting mags. Driving licence? Passport? I can't think of anything that would be acceptable other than a passport. I can't see many parents sending their kids in to town of a weekend with their passport in their pocket to lose / have stolen or be damaged. It isn't law just some bullshit 'store policy'

Every time some half baked moron starts spouting off that something I am doing is breaking the law. I ask them which law? Name the statute and the exact bit you think I am breaking. What year was the law passed? Shuts up 98% of the pricks on the spot and the other 2% either make a law up on the spot or waffle on about a law that has nothing to do with what I am doing. Well done on taking your complaint right to the top. Make sure you ruffle the right feathers and don't be fobbed off.

I am not 100% on the system in Ireland. Here the Registered Keeper would be prosecuted for S172 failure to furnish for not responding to the NIP within 28 days, a fine of upto £1000 and 6 penalty points. The Registered keeper would probably be found guilty in their absence at Mags court of speeding and be hit with 3 - 6 more points and a fine inc costs in the region of £ - 450 depending on the speed the vehicle was 'caught' doing on top of the S172 fine and points. You fail to pay the fines and surrender your licence for the points / ban and a warrant goes out for your arrest, Rozzers star

A glimmer of common sense and the correct verdict imho. However for me the real acid test comes at shotgun cert renewal time. Unfortunately the cert holder has fled to Australia so we unfortunately won't get a chance to test this rare outbreak of common sense to the end.

So what would you do to try and unite EVERYONE? How come no one has every tried to do this in the past, or have they? If the bank was repaired and the crater left in the bottom of the cut it would make a cracking deep water spot to fish to. Good opportunity to walk the stretch and note any usually hidden underwater features
