  1. We do mate, sounds like your bitch was very lucky to get it out. That was one hell of a long labour mate
  2. It seems quite a few of the genuine dog lads on here are either breeding or bringing in a pup this year, so i thought i would get your thoughts on this, I have always used Beta Pup when bringing in a puppy and last year when i bred my first litter i used it to wean them and all went well, although they can be a bit loose on it. Back end of last year i got a Wire Viz pup which had been weaned on Eukanuba, as the breeder gave me quite a bit i kept her on it and was amazed how solid she was on it and with her being quite picky how good a condition she was for how little she ate. The only

  4. They look little crackers mate Good luck with them
  5. Well Fern had her pups a few days ago, but what a long labour! She started at 10.00pm and had her 8th by 6.00am the next morning. About 7.30am she started her contractions again, but nothing came so at 9.00am we went off to the vets. They then sent us to the main vets at Barnard Castle for a scan, at 10.00am she was scaned and they saw at least 1 pup but they couldnt tell if it was alive or not, so they gave her an injection to make her contractions stronger and said she would pass the pup in the next 2 hours. Well 12 oclock came and went and the poor lass was knaked from the pushing bu
  6. On our small shoot there is only 4 of us that do all the work, the other lads are not interested and as others have said the lads that only want to shoot tend to be crap at working and organising a shoot anyway. Its suits us 4 anyway because we get all the vermin shooting out of season and about 4 or 5 Duck flights before they get a look in.
  7. He looks a nice type have you seen him work? They look well suited should make some nice pups for you mate, you keeping one?

  11. Smart little bitch mate Good luck with her
  12. Nice 1 Ned, hows things changed for you now you are doing this for a living, has it taken any of the sport out of it?
  13. Very nice pal, look forward to hearing about its progress
  14. Looks a very nice type mate Good luck with her
  15. Cant believe what i am reading As for being gunshy, if you create a bond with the dog (like what has been advised) he will trust you enough to disregard the shot and focus on you. Why do some lads ask for help, but then not want to hear the advise Dave.
  16. Thanks lads the pup is 11 months now and very immature compared to what the Lab was at that age, but i knew that about the breed before i got her. Her obedience is very good but about a month ago her desire to hunt for dummies dropped right off, so i have eased of the training for a month or 2 and just let her mature a bit and make things more fun for her. Going to pick up with her in a few weeks with a few shot rabbits and any dead poults when i check the pens, then soon it will be doggin in time again which i am sure will get her keen and a bit of rough shooting before the season
  17. Nice looking dog mate, good luck with him
  18. The pup has been a bit reluctant to take to the water, but yesterday she really got her confidence. As you can see she has no real style yet But she is getting there Then it was time for the Pro to show her how it is done Bring on the Ducks
  19. He looks a cracker mate, good luck with him
  20. Good on yeh for putting the time in mate. Good luck with him
  21. Yeh bunnys are well down here as well, have been for the last 2-3 years pleased you had a good season hily and the birds flew well, like you say bring on next season
  22. How did you get on last season mate, did the birds hold? We got just under 50% return on the Phez, 60% on our Ducks and flighted about 90 duck on our wild pond, (i think the wild weather helped) So we are very happy, especially when it is only our second season.
  23. We are the same mate, went up yesterday and we got 14 Squirrels, my lad got his first kill with his Shotgun that he got for Xmas, so turned out an excellent day. Will be starting to knock up some Pan feeders soon as we found them very good last season as the feed had alot of straw in it that blocked the springs. Will be cutting some rides in next week end as we have aquired another 250Acres for next season. What you upto hily?
