  1. I take it your an aficionado of the A-TEAM then Mush? TC
  2. This is the link that I put up previously. It tells all you need to know. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Units_of_textile_measurement TC
  3. 210 Is the thickness of the strands that make up the twine. the 24 after it denotes how many strands of 210 denier make up the twine. 210/12 is 12 strands of 210 denier = 4z 6z =210/18. That is simple enough to understand. but when it come to different twines they are measured differently. Some are measured by weight some are measured by length. There is a link on here somewhere that tells you how different twines are measured. Nearly every type of twine has it's own code for measurement. For spun polyester it is measured as 20 as the constant, what the 20 means I could not tell you sorry
  4. I was the same looking a sheet net 8z or 10z 5" full mesh couldn't understand there terms 8z is 210/24 and 10z is 210/30. TC

  7. It was £120 last time he listed it. The little dogs with big hearts is listed for £, same seller, and one has sold recently for that price. So perhaps you did have a bargain after all? TC

  9. BH, it was not meant as a derogatory remark, just a fact of life. The longer you live the wiser / more cynical you become. Back to the fracking. I am not totally against it, as long as there are no environmental issues I cannot see a problem. That said, for fracking to be allowed in this country, every issue that has been raised against it must be addressed. TC
  10. BH I have a great respect for what you have achieved in your short life so far. But, I really think you need to grow up and smell the coffee. To the oil companies, fines are just like another tax. They have no environmental conscience, only the bare minimum, what they are told they must do, will they do. All that matters to them is the buck, plain and simple. If they get fined 1million and the reason for the fine earned them 2 million. then they look at the fine as an expense, and consider the whole episode as a winning strategy. No matter what the environmental cost. TC
  11. Born Hunter. My DIL in an EA officer she makes a living prosecuting people who break EA laws. So please don't tell me that just because it is law people do not break them. Credit me with some intelligence!! TC
  12. As long as they dump the toxic residue else where? From what I have read it is mainly Derbyshire, Lancs, Cheshire and parts of another couple of counties that will be affected, although they are testing in Kent, Sussex and Hampshire. Where is the toxic waste going to go? TC What toxic waste? The natural radioactive isotopes found in shale formations? From what I am led to believe drilling companies have to meet EA standards and remove the vast majority of rads from the fluid to levels below what spring water has! Fracking fluid has to be non toxic to be used in the UK

  14. The science behind fracking has evolved just like in any other operation. Don't believe all the horror stories of what will happen. This is a massive resource that we need to take advantage of. Another NIMBY? TC
  15. Not a totally balanced report, but does highlight some of the concerns that should be addressed before they start. TC
  16. You can guarantee that each and every minister that voted for that was a NIMBY. It is the same with Farage, he is for fracking, clever move as the people in the big cities, who it does not impact upon, will vote for it as it means cheaper fuel costs to them. ? National parks were created as part of a nation heritage, not as a banker for the rich to exploit when they feel like it. TC
  17. Samuel Barbers adagio for strings. One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. TC
  18. That's what they are using in the commonwealth games ....... I would go with I vow to you my country. TC
