  1. That's a cracking looking dog Longbow I love the look of it, what's in it's breeding? how's it coming on?
  2. Don't forget to add a dash of Poodle for coat and sale abilty!!
  3. As Lab said, My dogs seemed to like it when I bought some, and for free you can't complain! might be worth adding some meat to it when they start working though? Definitely needs to be soaked though.
  4. 6 month's is still awful young for any dog let alone for a large, slow devoloping breed.
  5. Now that's some cracking looking dogs in top notch condition! all the best with the pup.
  6. Are you saying your going to start trying to work a 4 month old pup lmao! Can't be that desperate to start surely???
  7. Can I ask why your selling it? PM if you like.
  8. For a nervous pup, buy yourself a crate (dog Cage) so it's got somewhere it can go to get away. Cover it with a blanket/towel so it's dim, close and secure. Tell the family if it's in it's cage not to bother it at all. and just spend time with it. Let it get used to the house first before taking it out and socializing it. I'm sure I read somewhere to ignore really nervous dogs for the first week? no talking to them, no strokes, commands, nothing. Let the dog settle in. Feed times put the food in the bowl and just sit quiet somewhere near the bowl, once they've finished, let them out and wa
  9. I guess it could just be the fact it didn't run so didn't excite her prey drive? either that or she's still too mentally young, different dogs mature at different ages. leave her be for a bit and try again in a month or two.
  10. I can't work out if he has really long legs or just a shallower chest? Still it a lovely looking dog, and that's some cracking feet it's got! Good luck with the up coming season. Keep us posted.
  11. Just use Photobucket, that's what most use.
  12. It's not the damage she's taken that gets me, Bull crosses can take a lot of punishment in their line of work, it's the fact she'd been dumped after giving her all for someone. Like Stroller said she's probably been handed from pillar to post working hard for anyone and everyone and probably dropping pups for them all then just dumped.
  13. Been looking through puppy posts and rescue centres for a lurcher and found this on Lurcher link. http://www.lurcherlink.org/llink/forum/viewtopic.php?t=54158 Poor old girl obviously put everything into a lifetime of work and then just got starved and then dumped when she became ill. Some people are just heartless b*****ds. So much for a comfy sofa to retire on in old age..
  14. We use a sportstrak and the back comes off the same as that. Rifle Bipod can lean on the roof above the driver. We left the back door on though as that's where we throw the bunnies etc.
  15. I expect they've just hit the 0 twice by accident.... I hope!
  16. It was American contractor's that were doing the drilling, American employee's working on the rig, and an American made pipe cap the failed, all overseen by American Management. but it's Britain at fault and were going to have to pay.
  17. Thank you all for your comments and your thoughts. I'm truly gutted and still can't believe how quick it happened. He was a true character and managed to surprise quite a few with his amazing speed but complete lack of turning ability! lol To be truthful I worried he might go early but thought it would be whilst working as he would enter cover at an almost flat run, working through the tightest spots to get his quarry and would never back down once he'd caught. RIP Roo You'll be sorely missed.
  18. He's eaten about 1/4-1/2 a pint of it. We found the pot next door. he's chewed through the pot to get at them, so I don't know if he's going to survive this.... Just reading up on it, apparently a dog can die within 4 hours of ingestion and theirs no known cure. All the vet can do is treat the symptoms (shaking with sedatives, dehydration with IV drips etc.) Life just f*****g gets worse, lose my son, now might lose my dog as well.
  19. Just been rushing around the neighbours trying to find if anyone's put down Rat poison lately and turns out next doors been casting slug pellets far and wide Roo must of got in their garden and been hoovering them up like sweeties....
  20. Just went out into the garden for a fag and noticed Roo was curled in a ball shivering, I call he's name and he stood up and tried walking to me but was really unsteady on his feet, as I touched him he jumped and twitched about as if I was electrocuting him. Rushed him the the vets and they said poison straight away, so going to try to get him to vomit it up and get him sedated and on a drip. I just hope I got him there in time?
  21. Is there no way you can restrict the people who can post in a section? say restricting the competition section to competitors and Mods posting only? Would cut out a lot of the chaff. Always wanted to run in this comp just for the craic more than anything else but Roo's just not a good enough rabbiter and the land I've won't supply the runs necessary for two dogs.
  22. Tell you what, you buy it for me and I'll gladly do you a review! Different collars for different jobs. I used the collar I got from DDD at a Lure coursing meet and Roo almost ripped through the leather by constant snatching at the lead so they just won't take the stick I need them too. Cuagusgiorrai, that's exactly what I use.
  23. Might be worth getting a PA system installed, or giving them a loud Haler maybe? That poor woman last time almost lost her voice shouting Dog's names all day lol
