  1. Cracking read Arctic, thank you for sharing!
  2. Lovely looking dog Bud, they look a lot wider than my pup that is almost the same breeding, although in the bottom photo where your bitch is stood next to the Black and White BullX they don't look that much dfferant in size? (although shorter Muzzle than the bullx obviously!) As they say dogs for a job pure and simple.
  3. Sounds like your doing fine mate, as Thorny said, at that age it's more about experiencing the world in general rather than getting miles/hours under it's paws, everything's new and exciting to a pup, get it out in as many different situations as possible for a steady well balanced dog. Good luck with the pup.
  4. Congratulations on the first of what I hope is many! is a great feeling!
  5. Stunning! well that solves the next question I was going to ask! whether to say it would be a working home or not! lol Thank you all for your help, I'll be swapping this to pm's. Thank you all for your advice. All the best Luke.
  6. It's going to be a hard one to decide, I've only got photo's to go from and the views of the people Fostering him who have never worked a dog and probably wouldn't want this one working either!
  7. I believe it was the Terriers hitting into him? the guy was worried it would kill his terriers if left. He's now staying in a foster home with other dogs and apparently is fine. Yeah it does, have you checked his ears mate? Doesn't look like it. What would a Tattoo mean? that it's a pure Grey? Thank you all for your advice, so it looks he could take Rabbits (in theory) but would be better at the more open land? WhipXGrey we get very little Ploughed ground around here, as they take the crops off they plough and Harrow almost same day so it looks like a billiard tab
  8. I use the 100w. It has a fairly wide spreading beam which is variable width, which isn't great for running at distance but their bomb proof, Wiring's good, casing is tough and has taken a lot of stick. Only thing I'd recommend though is to not us the slot in handle that comes with it, awkward to use and comes off just at the wrong time! Also if your using a filter with it, tape the black rim on to the lamp, I've had it come off a few times when lifting the filter out the way for a run and it's slipped off. Not easy to find when your dogs running and may need help.
  9. Been looking at a 4 yr old 28" BullxGrey, he looks very racey (almost like a pure Grey) He is an exworker that got in a scrap with the guys terriers or something, so got handed into a rescue.[ Is this too big for bunnies? I'm pretty much just a pot hunter, Running on a Friday night from the back of the pickup and a Sunday on my own. Running whatever happens to lift in front of me. I don't get many runs round here so don't need loads of Stamina but like the dog to be able to pick up what's there. Roo was 25" but bulkier with it and could sometimes struggle with Rabbits on the turn. Will
  10. Can I ask what breeding this is? It's a cracking looking dog, Does it work?
  11. Looking at his other videos they hunt boar with them. Some lovely looking dogs.
  12. Feed the whole thing and just keep up on your worming Tablets.
  13. Well took me over an hour to get there but I think it was worth it, the weather came good and was almost too hot for the dogs, we had a good craic with the guys again and met a few new faces. It was just my daughter and me this time but we were soon made to feel welcome, and being in a field just behind a pub it had it's bonuses! Put Tess in the bullx ring and she got a respectable third which was good for her. I'm looking after the Male pup from Tia's litter at the moment so took him along for a laugh, so he got some looks being probably twice as wide as any other dog there lol Tess did he
  14. So sounds like it's going to be a good craic mate, I've managed to borrow the father-in-laws car so i'll be there about 11.30-12.00
  15. There going to be a bullx class? Might be able to head up with the pup for a toot about. All the best with the Show.
  16. Is there someone in your area with an experienced dog that can go out with you, sounds like it's just unsure of what it's supposed to be doing?
  17. you mean like this Tiger That's an awesome looking dog pops, was it yours or from your kennel? Pops, we looked into shipping one out to Texas for that exact reason, but the shipping costs were extortionate, so it didn't happen. I wasn't charging for the pup, just wanted it tested. She will eventually be run on Boar, legally in Europe and hopefully get some proper digs in whilst I'm there to test her too. Thanks again all for the comments. Luke.
  18. You can't really see from those photo's have you got any of her stood up from a side view? Do you mean fit or looking well? Just because a dog looks 'toned' doesn't mean it's fit and Vice a Versa! A steady walking pace, even fairly long distances won't really get a dog fit, I'm not knocking it, it's nice for the dog and for you to get out in the countryside and will help to tighten ligaments and harden feet. You need to get it next to a bike or behind a car to build real Stamina in the dog, to get it's heart and lungs working properly a steady, fast trot or gallop for sustained pe
  19. Thank you for the comments, I think I was just lucky with that last photo, managing to get them all sat still long enough to take it! I did have, but he just recently passed away (Roo). I believe for Alaunts, they use an English Bull Terrier, not Staffordshire Bull, but still pretty close.
  20. LMAO! at least you didn't take his pink gloves from him!
  21. Didn't really have too many recent photo's of Tess so had to take some new ones, still got to tease her with biscuits to get her to stand still! She's the raciest out of all of them and now stands at about 23" She's still not matured yet but has caught her first Rabbit and had a couple of good runs since then. I don't think she's going to be quick enough for straight lining Rabbits but she can turn on a six pence and has very good acceleration, so fingers crossed she'll be able to give me a bit of sport. Took three of the pups and their mum for a long walk together and manag
  22. She looks in great condition, good luck with her for the season.
  23. For at least the first 6 month's it's not so much about exercise as about getting it out to experience the world's sights, sounds and smells and also getting the basic's down ready for when the training starts.
  24. Thank you again for all your kind thoughts and comments. As Roo was a rescue dog I've been having a look around for another that needs a new home but have found the price has gone up for rescuing them, got to pay £120 donation now and I just don't have that sort of money, so will have to wait for awhile.
