  1. I hear what you say there Simon and agree with some, but what I am trying too get across to people is that Chinese rifles have come a hell of a long way from what they used to be and are now far superior in quality to what originally got them such a bad reutation. My 19 is a duplicate of the HW35 and I would lay money on it that once I have a GRT from 'Charlie da Tuner' in the States installed, it will be as sweet to shoot as the original HW35 is. Somewhere on this forum is a thread that I put up regarding my last play with the 19 after not touching it for a year or more even. The groupin
  2. Again I would have to disagree The early Chinese guns were pretty rotten and lacked consistancy, just like the Honda's and Kawasaki's and Toyota were all "Jap Crap" and were the worst things on the roads, but now look at them. They produce some of the worlds most reliable and most luxury cars as well. Just as the newer Chinese guns are now much more reliable and consistant. I would put my 19 out in the field all day shooting vermin. Incidently have you seen where the new Beretta's are being manufactured? Yep you got it, CHINA.
  3. I hear what your saying 8 and most of us know your a very competant shooter as well But if the shot placement aint perfect to decimate the brain or spinal column it's likely to make a dash for it. For example the pellet hits lower in the head or through the eyes, its gonna seriousley wound the creature and it's not going to be a one shot stop. Where as a lighter/softer pellet is likely to transfere more KE to the Central Nervous System and that shock to the system is much more likely to shut the CNS down than a pellet that goes straight through and tranferes little shock to the CNS.
  4. I beg to differ gentlemen SMK 19 complete with second kill at 35 yards early one morning. This is the rifle that got me into hunting and it has removed many a pest out to 35 yards with ease apart from the heay pull weight of the trigger, its as sweet as a nut and puts out a constant 10.5 ft/lbs at the muzzle which is far more than is needed to decimate the brain of a bunny at 35 yards. I had not tuned it in anyway shape or form at the time. In fact, the only two things I've done to it was added a UK_Niel Silencer and dampened the noise from the action by putting some felt pads
  5. SOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo TRUE I've had a couple of clients follow/watch me, more to do with the "Will he/ won't he shoot that tiny baby bunny" "Oh he did and he did it 1st shot as well, good work Sir " AA & FX pellets work for me I was once present when a fellow shooter took 3 Biz mags to drop a 3/4 grown doe (admittedly it was close range and .177 but its true). 6. Oiy!! You wanna slap After the news I had today trust me Bill, Im gonna look more like
  7. Very odd The Biz Mags are much harder and heavier and because of this tend to drill right through the quarry and not transfering as much KE I think most of the regs on here will agree with that as most have had exactly that experiance Phantom
  8. Very nice work Si That floor could do with a bit of a polish though
  9. I use AAF's a lot, price has gone through the roof on all pellets. Personally unless the damage to the skirt is extreme I find that the soft skirt helps when the initial blast of air forces it out into the rifling The softer the lead, the more kinetic energy is transferred to the quarry and the more the better if shot placement is not 100% pin point accurate. 10. And tag-nuts..... Dunno 'bout you part of the world, but round here a tag nut is a little clump of the smelly brown stuff that gets caught on your hairs between the lower cheeks of the anatomy I've never had s aproblem with tag nuts on my babies
  11. Planting people? How deep do you set them? Six feet down. He shoots in a cemetery I thought as much but you never know, one bloke went into chicken farming round here, set the eggs at six inches deep... :11: Didn't see the reply Andy

  15. Hi Andy, I'll let you know when I get out with the Ultra got broken fingers on my right hand along with a bone in the hand itself (long story) And yesterday I managed to slice right into the cartiladge of my middle finger on the other hand whilst sharpening a lock knife! Don't ask how I did it, because it was the back of the blade that caught me and I can't fathom that out at all :wallbash:Just missed the small vein phew, but knicked part of the tendon Other than having my fingers splinted up I'm pretty much so and so. Had a little good news this morning; but I've a couple of
  16. Hi Andy, Had the pleasure of shooting one a couple of years ago in Coventry Along with some other rareaties such as the Jackal by Sussex Armouries, that was also a Side Lever and didn't have have a TWANG to it. Phantom
  17. The front ring is what is known as an Adjustable Objective lens. Its use it to help eliminate paralax error and also can be used for rangefinding. If your looking through the scope and your set up at say 20meters, but your target was at 50meters, the target would be fuzzy/blurred. Turn the ring one way or the other to bring it into focus and when its in focus, the number on the ring tells you how far away it is You would be better making your own range marks on it though as its probably not 100% accurate. Have a search through Si's (Zini) posts. He gives clear detailed instructio
  18. Not when they are taking a dump on your bonnet :11:
  19. This one of those threads that just aint gonna die aint it?

  21. In HUll and surrounding area's I'll recomend NO-ONE! Apart from Rod @ H&DFTC Not a shop, but by far the very, very, VERY best RFD I've ever met. He's no rip off merchant; unlike the rest of em in this area. I'd reccomend him to anyone and everyone. The other RFD's could learn a fecking hell of a lot from Rod Had two guns off him, well below the nominal going rate that would be charged by the rest Rod Phantom
  22. :11: we all make the odd gaff here and there
  23. Like it Archie Almost as funny as Stealthy's "I told you not to eat the grass " thread :11:
  24. Hey Simon May I be a pedantic old git? AO = Adjustable Objective as it's the objective lens that is moved in/out to focus (you can punch me in the chops at the meet buddy :11: ) But other than that Spot on and well worth the SPA Phantom
