  1. Hiya Symon, yeah on and off unwell (wont go into details) but its knocked the stuffin outta me, but thanks to Hull Hunter I've some new leads to follow up for new permission in this new and strange (well it is to me anyways) VILLAGE (its bigger than most towns I know) Take care Tony
  2. I totally agree with most of what you say there, but if you have nerve damage and cant handle the S200, you will have very severe problems with the HW100. I've shot both on many occasions and I must admit the S200 is as accurate as the HW100 (I was up against them last July) but the S200 wins (in my humble opinion) due to its cost and weight What ever rifle you choose I wish you all the best with it Tony
  3. Hey Simon, I'm getting there as best I can. Hoping to do some hunting soon as I've only had the very few forays out since my return from Germany. Lots gone on but hopefully putting it behind me now and getting back into the swing of thngs again Take care Tony
  4. Mr Davy Sir, You seem to have lost your avatar
  5. Oh Simon, That is just the way I would have handled it My old man once got a caning for something he didn't do buy the head of a school that I went to. I had great delight in telling this head that if he gave me the cane, it would be more than his orchard that was cut down overnight So I got detention instead, which was I suppose fair after putting a classmate in hospital
  6. Thank you Simon, (you Diplomat you!) For putting across what I (and I am sure we are not alone) was thinking in a very polite and straight forward manor. I was initially similar to Mr & Mrs Mole. Until I came upon (and I know the reputation of Chinese guns) and purchased a second hand SMK XS19. I've put hundreds of bunnies in the bag with that, then decided to see what the fuss was about PCP's. I purchased a dirt cheap AA S200 in .22 and have never looked back. I still like to shoot the SMK, because its a darn fine copy of the gamo hunter and the HW 35 or something like that. I
  7. Well how about we try for a larger tent and Si and Laura share with me? Tony
  8. Mole, You do realise that you can be banned for having multiple accounts for a single person I'd suggest you ask either Sean or Jasper to remove this one Tony
  9. Nice work Si I've been tempted to do similar on some of the older rifles that I've restored, but never had the nuts to do it for fear of fecking it up Tony
  10. Great news that your both able to make it Si Can't wait to see you both again Tony
  11. Hi Simon, You are correct with the Heron but although as I mentioned on another post, its perfectly legal, to take pheasant, duck, grouse, woodcock, partridge and (this may cause a bit of a stir) Canada Goose at the correct time of the year. Also added to the GL's in 2010 are Ring Neck Parakeets and there is also the Monk Parakeet. And I wont mention the other one on the GL because once a newbie gets the species name they go out and 'have a pop' at all the members of that species and not just the one on the list! Tony ps WML GL04, gl05 and gl05 are the documents you need to read for
  12. It's "frowned upon" by the boys with the 12 guages, but yes when they are in season and you have permission, then a headshot will despatch them cleany

  17. I've just spoken to Sue, Owen and Sue will be holding me at gunpoint to make sure I get in the car to go to the meet So I guess I'll be there the Friday Davy, I've never presented a trophy to myself, how do I do it? I'm still hoping to have my own gear (got a few quid due) But thanks to everyone for the offers, I'll take you all up on them just incase things dont go to plan Davy, I've not got your number text me please Tony
  18. I would advise that a head shot on all quarry if at all possible Many people go for heart/lung shots on birds such as pidgeon because its a larger target, however this may be true but there are a few things to lean before attempting it. A woody for example, has hudge pectoral muscles on the front of its chest and behind this is a huge breastbone. 9 times out of 10 the pellet wont make it through the muscle let alone the bone "Shield". So if you want a successful shot on a woody's boddy you have to aim from the side at the point at which the wing joins the body. Many people refuse hea
