  1. I don't think Davy's that way inclind Andy, The other guy, maybe but not Davy f**k it, I'm off to bed, TTFN catch yah later G'night and some deighaty or other blessyah
  2. Sounds like it may well have been a potential bummer, Tony!!! I was being polite, but was thinkinjg along the same lines
  3. Thats a bummer Davy How long you out for? Phantom
  4. Thats probably correct Ghillies, assuming of course that the pellets are exactly the same weight and precisely the same shape (and we are talking zero% difference here) and that the regulater is putting out the same amount of air down to the thousand'th in both CML and density and that the temperature and humidity as well as air density are precisely the same for every shot However, there will never be two shots the same, especially when there is an organic floppy thing at the blunt end pressing the trigger. You see ghillies; its so much more than just the capability of the gun, its the com
  5. Laura did me eggs on toast Si, Another cup of the strong black stuff and I'm waking up nicely now, should be fully awake by the time you get home My vision was a little 'milky' though, thought it was the sun catching the sides of my fave and glasses, just noticed, it looks like I splashed them when I was brushing my teeth I can see again properly now I've cleaned them :11: See you soon Buddy Tony
  6. What awaits me when I get home late tonight

  7. Good morning to you too Doubled up on the sleepers last night, so a little groggy at the moment Pouring the black stuff down my throat to shift the groggyness (I'm sure that's not a word lol) Regards the shooting, the personal tuition and guidance has been absorbed and I shall indeed apply it all to my future shooting Thank you buddy Tony
  8. Thanks Wurz, I appreciate it The vids came together brilliantly didn't it. It was very inspiring watching Si do that and watching him shoot just urged me on to do equally well Si's encouragement and belief in the guns accuracy as well as my ability gave me huge confidance to do it. And thanks again to the rest of you guy's for your comments Phantom
  9. It has indeed Andy, Something I'll treasure forever Just wish I could get rid of this 'cold, tight knot in my stomach that keeps appearing when I think about going home
  10. Advanced Boot Camp :11: I know exactly what energy it takes to drop a bunny and if you run your stats through something like CGP it will answer your question for you. I dont mind shooting paper and other objects at that range but if I were to try and drop a bunny at those sort of ranges, I'd be slated to kingdom come! Phantom
  11. Thanks guy's Yes We have had a good time together and my Most Sincere and Heartfelt Thanks to both Si and Laura for having me as they're guest, the hospitality and generosity they have has been fantastic Si has taught me to push my skills to the limit and then blow through that limit and go for the next one. What we were doing today was refining and honing my skils, I promis I will continue to refine them by doing much more distance work and getting better than I have ever been. As Si say's; today is my last full day with them for a while and I return to the UK tomorrow. Thank g
  12. Hi Steve, Your pattern of lines under the Mildots are actually for rangefinding Deer. Do a search for one of the Mildot Calibration threads that Si's done, They explain it all Phantom
  13. Hi again Personally I like the illuminator as close to the scope as possible, that way the light comes straight back at the scope, the further away from the scope the harder it is to work with Phantom
  14. Cheers Buddy, I'm now nearing the end and must admit, its beginning to get me down a little The thought of going back to the crap that I escaped from is daugnting to say the least As regards being a TechFeckWit? Well you dont have to use a mildot job to achieve the BC as its POI at your nominal Zero (gotta be precise though) and then move the target out to say 45 meters, keep the same POA and then measure the pellet drop, put that number into CGP (unless youwant to do the complicated algotithm yourself) and CGP will give you the exact BC of the pellet Hope I've helped a little
  15. Hey Andy, Si has done three threads now detailing exactly how to find the precise BC for ANY given pellet. Our last post on Registration and Calibration is a perfect guide Just follow Si's instructions and you will have the answer absolutely spot on REGISTRATION & Calibration and also "How to find the BC of a pellet" in a search string will pull up the threads for you I've had 1st hand tuition on this subject and, well youve seen the results buddy Phantom
  16. We already did that Ghillies We flogged the result to Rowntrees and they called em POLO's :11:
  17. I'll second that as well guy's, Superb shooting and another good write up Davy Phantom
  18. Its weird actually, when we were doing the Registration and Calibration shots, the backstop was metal and worse still a curved surface so each time I placed the target in position, I had to make sure that if the target went slightly off centre, I had to stand at the opposite side to where any ricochet could go, so if it was likely that the pellet would hit the target, slightly off to the right as the shooter looked at it, I had to stand to the left for my own safety Today I knew full well that any pellet woud go through either the target or perhaps if low would go through the stand and n
  19. Why not Andy? Oh hang on I get you, yes guy's he's quite correct most homes and gardens are not 80meters long let alone 81 :11: Thnaks Craig, Yeah, must admit, my ass was a much bigger target :11: Its amazing what you can do when you begin to push the envelope of your own skills and have faith in the equipment you use I would not have even thought I had the skill to do that without the encouragement of Si We are both Itching to do the 100 yard/meters jobs now I now have so much belief in myself that with a little further practice I WILL be able to do it conditions perm
  20. Hi Tony and Welcome to the forum I've had most of my hunting rigs accessories from either China or HK and apart from a battery charger that broke on me I've had no problems with it! I have Si's Tasco on my Chinese made springer now I have a Leaupold Scope that I came from the same factory as the genuine Leaupold Scope's; it faild QC at last inspection due to a blemish on the coating of the objective lense (Trust me this in no way hinders the scopes performance) Rather than spend all the extra money to strip is down and strip the coatings off, then recoat it and refil the nitrogen in the
  21. The Ultrafire is awsome, been using one that puts out 300 Lumens I've been using it a few years now on my Baby. I've had it slung under the barrel, on the silencer and both on top of and at the side of my scope. I've also just been given one with the Red Cree illuminator as part of a new Hunting rig for xmas Phantom
  22. I had a hell of a great time, alas the Boar had moved on But hey there is always next time My guide for the evening was a gent named 'Tozza' and the RWS Thirty Odd Six was a superbly balanced piece of kit that felt like perfection in my shoulder Okay, yes it was a posed pic, but forget about me, look at the Baby I'm holding Before it got dark, we were sat in the hide with the wind (and it was a freezing wind) blowing directly into our faces! First to show its face was a Doe, quickly followed by two young. Unfortunately the guy who owns the shooting rights, didn't
  23. Girl done Good indeed Archie Phantom
  24. Si and I compared the data that we gathered on the registration and calibration shots to that on CGP CGP is very, very close but not perfect as it can't take into account all the variables that are present during the test, but by eck' it was ruddy close Phantom
